Here's your first behind-the-scenes look at Wednesday season 2

As a die-hard fan who has been following the Addams Family saga since I was a kid, this news about Wednesday season 2 is like a dream come true! The first season was a delightful blend of humor, mystery, and a dash of the macabre, and I can’t wait to see what Tim Burton and the cast have in store for us next.

The team responsible for the production is diligently filming the long-awaited second season of Wednesday in Ireland, and we eagerly anticipate the completion of this process so that we can once again enjoy our beloved characters on television. Although the second episode may not air on Netflix until 2025, the streaming service has some tricks up its sleeve to keep us engaged during the wait.

At Geeked Week 2024, Netflix revealed a sneak peek behind the scenes of the second season. In the brief video below, you can catch glimpses of the sets, actors, and director Tim Burton overseeing filming for the upcoming season. The cast members featured in this behind-the-scenes glimpse are Jenna Ortega (Wednesday Addams), Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers), Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams), Luis Guzmán (Gomez Addams), Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley Addams), and Joy Sunday (Bianca Barclay).

As stated by Zeta-Jones, the second season of Wednesday is expected to be more expansive and intricately tangled than anyone might anticipate. Following an exceptional debut, there’s little room for debate that the next chapter will surpass our expectations, particularly with the introduction of new cast members on board.

In addition to the actors mentioned earlier, the remaining cast members who are returning include Moosa Mostafa playing Eugene, Georgie Farmer as Ajax, Victor Dorobantu in the role of Thing, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo portraying Deputy Ritchie Santiago, Jamie McShane assuming the character of Sheriff Donovan Galpin, and Fred Armisen taking on Uncle Fester.

This season, I’m excited to see some new faces joining the game! Here they are: Steve Buscemi as Barry Dort, Billie Piper as Capri, Thandiwe Newton as Dr. Fairburn, Joanna Lumley as Grandmama, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, Noah Taylor, Christopher Lloyd, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo! Can’t wait to interact with them in-game!

Details about Season 2 are being kept secret for now, but we know that Wednesday will continue to unravel supernatural enigmas upon her return to Nevermore Academy. If you remember, at the end of Season 1, it was revealed that Wednesday has a mysterious admirer. Who might this be? Additionally, in the final episode of Season 1, Tyler managed to slip away from police custody. This certainly won’t bode well! With so many intriguing plot points left unresolved in Wednesday, we can hardly wait for its release!

It’s said that the production is expected to conclude in November 2024. Once completed, the episodes will move into post-production for editing and polishing. Netflix has confirmed that we can expect a new season release in 2025; however, they haven’t given us the specific date yet.

For now, our most likely timeframe for releasing Wednesday season 2 is between spring and summer of 2025. However, there’s a possibility it could be pushed back to the fall due to the fact that the first season premiered in the fall. As soon as we have an official release date, we’ll promptly update you. At this moment, these are the only details we can share about Wednesday season 2.
