Here's when the Wizards of Waverly Place sequel series premieres on Disney Channel

As a gamer who grew up in the golden age of Disney Channel, the news about the return of “Wizards of Waverly Place” has sent my nostalgia levels soaring! I remember staying up late on school nights to catch Alex Russo’s magical mishaps and Justin’s responsible ways. Selena Gomez was a household name back then, and it’s fascinating to see how she’s grown into the multitalented star she is today.

Prepare yourself for some magical moments, because Disney has revealed the date when the revival of the popular show, “Wizards of Waverly Place,” will be airing on your screens!

Currently, Selena Gomez is renowned for her outstanding performances in the popular Hulu show “Only Murders in the Building”, an assortment of films, albums, and even her own makeup line. However, it was a different journey that led her to this point. Prior to these accomplishments, Gomez first gained fame on the Disney Channel, where she played the role of Alex Russo in “Wizards of Waverly Place”. This series centers around the Russo family, who own a deli in New York and happen to be sorcerers; they are competing among their three children to determine which one will inherit the magical gene.

From 2007 to 2012, the TV show followed Alex, who frequently used her magic for personal gain but ultimately assisted her family. Her brother, Justin, portrayed by David Henrie, was more serious. The series concluded with Alex gaining magic powers and Justin assuming leadership at a magical school.

Currently, fans are thrilled to learn that the series is hopping on the bandwagon of sequels for beloved Disney shows, as Wizards Beyond Waverly Place is set to debut. Initially, Gomez will make an appearance in the premiere, with Henrie taking center stage afterwards. The storyline revolves around Justin, who has left the enchanted realm and now leads a mundane life with his wife Giada and their children, Roman and Milo.

Justin’s peaceful existence is disrupted when Alex shows up with Billie (Janice LeAnn Brown), a raw but unruly young sorceress. Aware that she’s not the best fit for instruction, Alex persuades Justin to accept Billie and tutor her, compelling him to unveil his mystical past to his family.

1. In its comeback, the show adopts the traditional audience setup from the original studio, and even more excitingly, former Disney Channel stars such as Raven-Symoné and Danielle Fishel will take on directing roles for individual episodes.

The series has been officially commissioned, and it’s now confirmed that the premiere of the first two episodes will take place on Disney Channel on Tuesday, October 29, at 8/7 central time. Following this, two more episodes will air on Disney Channel on Wednesday, October 30. From then on, new episodes will be broadcast every Friday at 8 pm, starting from November 8. Interestingly, the first eight episodes of the show will simultaneously become accessible on both platforms on October 30.

As a game enthusiast, I couldn’t be more excited! The timing for this series debut, just around Halloween, is nothing short of magical. With everyone’s interest in all things enchanted at an all-time high, it feels like the perfect moment for the Wizards to make their grand return. I can only imagine Disney gearing up for some marathons of the original series, ready to rekindle the captivating magic that made us all fall in love with it.

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place premieres Tuesday, October 29 at 8/7c on Disney Channel.
