Here's when and how to watch Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story this week

As a binge-watching aficionado with a penchant for Ryan Murphy’s intriguing narratives and a soft spot for true crime dramas, I can hardly contain my excitement! The upcoming season of “Monsters” on Netflix, especially the Erik and Lyle Menendez story, promises to be a gripping tale that will keep me on the edge of my seat.

The autumn TV schedule has kicked off, bringing delight to fans of Ryan Murphy’s productions such as ‘Monster’ and ‘American Horror Stories’. This week marks the premiere of two fresh Murphy series: ‘American Sports Story’ on FX (airing on September 17), and the second season of Netflix’s anthology series, ‘Monsters: The Erik and Lyle Menendez Story‘.

Beginning this coming Thursday, September 19th, the complete nine-episode series of “Monsters” will debut simultaneously on Netflix. Interestingly enough, just like the initial season that centered around infamous serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, this release pattern was also used for the first season of “Monster“.

In the second season of the biographical crime drama, audiences will delve into the intricate tale surrounding the Menendez family. This series, available on Netflix, is loosely based on actual events from 1989 when brothers Erik and Lyle tragically took the lives of their parents, José and Kitty. The show features Cooper Koch and Nicholas Chavez portraying Erik and Lyle, while Chloë Sevigny and Javier Bardem bring Kitty and José to life on screen. Additionally, Nathan Lane, Ari Graynor, Leslie Grossman, and Dallas Roberts contribute to the ensemble cast.

Apart from his role in the upcoming Ryan Murphy series, titled “Grotesquerie,” Chavez is expected to make an appearance as well. The premiere date for this show is set for later this month.

If you haven’t had the chance to watch the official trailer yet for the series, check it out below.

The entire series of nine episodes will be streamable starting at midnight Pacific Time or 3:00 a.m. Eastern Time. Given that it’s a drama, the episodes are likely to be lengthy, so you might find yourself short on time to watch them all during one night unless you’re prepared for a sleepless experience!

Enthusiasts of the series “Monster” can look forward to an abundance of new material, as Netflix has decided to extend it for two more seasons following the massive, record-breaking achievement of “Dahmer”. Previous reports have confirmed that the third season will focus on the serial killer Ed Gein and will feature Charlie Hunnam in the main role. The production of “Monster” season 3 is set to begin next month.
