The popular ITV detective series Vera concluded earlier this year after 14 seasons. The show finished when its star, Brenda Blethyn, decided to leave her famous role to focus on her family.
The latest episode of Vera Stanhope saw the detective solve one final crime before retiring. However, fans are wondering if this is truly the end for the popular character, and if she might return to television soon.
In an interview on This Morning, Blethyn addressed rumours about Vera possibly making a return to ITV.

Blethyn revealed her difficult decision to depart the popular show last year, sharing that she anticipates feeling emotional around the time she would usually begin filming again in March.
I absolutely loved my time on the show, but honestly, I hadn’t had a proper summer with my family in fourteen years. I did one more season because it was hard to leave, but deep down, I knew it was time for a change.
The actress revealed she struggled with feelings of self-doubt, often called “impostor syndrome,” but managed to overcome them while filming the show.
“I loved the job,” she added. “I was proud of it and I felt like I had a command of the character.
Vera seasons one to three are streaming now on Disney+.
