Here’s 5 brilliant horrors that Scary Movie 6 will be mocking – including one of 2025’s best movies

As an ardent fan, I can’t help but share an exciting tidbit about our beloved Scary Movie franchise! Our very own Marlon Wayans has given us a sneak peek into the upcoming movie, revealing that it will take aim at some of 2025’s most acclaimed films. Needless to say, I can barely contain my enthusiasm for what’s in store!

Last year, it was officially announced that the franchise would make a comeback with Scary Movie 6, marking its return after a 12-year hiatus. This implies there’s a wealth of fresh horror movies available to be made fun of now.

Wayans has shared some exciting news about upcoming projects, and it seems that among this year’s potential standouts, films like “Sinners,” “Longlegs,” “Get Out,” “Nope,” and “Heretic” are on their radar.

In simpler terms, he said to ComicBook that he enjoys the entire genre and mentioned that “I Know What You Did Last Summer” might have some appeal for him.

In my opinion, the ‘Scream’ series is consistently fantastic. I found ‘Heretic’ to be an outstanding film. ‘Longlegs’, ‘Get Out’, and ‘Nope’ are also terrific horror movies that we have a lot of fun choices from. We’re looking forward to selecting some of these brilliant horror films for our upcoming plans, which includes ‘Sinners’.

In the upcoming movie “Scary Movie 6,” Marlon Wayans, both onscreen and offscreen as a co-writer, brings back the much-anticipated appearances of franchise staples Anna Faris reprising her role as Cindy Campbell and Regina Hall stepping back into the shoes of Brenda Meeks.

Last year, Marlon, along with his brothers Shawn and Keenen, expressed their tremendous enthusiasm about joining the latest ‘Scary Movie’ production and reuniting for another project. This film series, they mentioned, is one they initially established over two decades ago.

In simpler terms, “We recall the joy of people laughing in the theater aisles and eagerly anticipate recreating that laughter. We’re excited to collaborate with Jonathan Glickman and his Miramax team in bringing this laughter back to movie theaters. It’s like coming full circle.

Jonathon Glickman from Miramax stated: “It’s ideal to revive this series on the big screen now, and we’re fortunate that Keenen, Marlon, and Shawn will share their distinctive brand of humor with viewers worldwide.

Scary Movie 6 is due for release in UK and US cinemas on 12 June, 2026.
