Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star Mama June is THIN again after reaching 500lbs as fans think she’s on Ozempic

Mama June Shannon, known from the reality show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, was spotted in New York City on Wednesday, making a rare public appearance.

The 46-year-old reality TV star seemed to be her thinnest yet in her 10-year weight journey.

Oh my gosh, you won’t BELIEVE this about her! She used to be over 500 pounds – seriously! – and then she lost so much weight, down to around 150! But it wasn’t a straight path, you know? She struggled with yo-yo dieting, so the weight would go up and down. It’s just… incredible how much her body has changed. I’ve been following her journey for years, and it’s honestly inspiring, even with the ups and downs.

Fans took to X on Wednesday to debate whether the TV star has taken Ozempic to shed the weight.

Fans have speculated that June lost weight through the use of weight loss drugs, with some specifically mentioning Ozempic. One person commented that she’s lost a significant amount of weight, while another nicknamed her ‘Skinny June’ and attributed her transformation to the drug.

The beloved TV personality debuted a striking new red hairstyle, a change from her blonde look of many years, while wearing a black and beige ensemble.

She visited SiriusXM Studios in Manhattan with her daughters: Lauryn Efird, also known as Pumpkin, Alana Thompson, known as Honey Boo Boo, and Jessica Shannon, who goes by Chubbs.

Earlier this week she revealed a health scare.

She shared on the Virtual Reali-Tea podcast that she had a complete hysterectomy last April, and it came as a surprise. She told co-hosts Evan Real and Danny Murphy that she wasn’t expecting to need the surgery.

I was really frightened when I noticed some changes with my fibroid cysts – they had broken apart into separate ones. It reminded me of what Anna was going through, and I immediately worried about ovarian cancer. I even shared my fears with my children and spent a long time dwelling on it.

Mama June said she’s ‘still dealing with medical issues.’

She admitted some days are really difficult, but emphasized it’s nowhere near as serious as cancer. She explained to others, ‘We understand this won’t be life-threatening, but it could leave me unable to move around.’

Just hours after a psychic predicted health problems, Mama June revealed in July that she had been hospitalized.

While at her daughter Jessica Shannon’s bachelorette party, the celebrity consulted a psychic who warned her she was experiencing significant stress and cautioned that it could potentially lead to a heart attack.

Several hours later, she was in terrible pain, and her husband, Justin Stroud, urged her to seek medical attention, remembering the psychic’s earlier concerns.

On the show Mama June: Family Crisis, June Shannon admitted things are much harder now than they’ve ever been before.

Doctors in the emergency room ‘determined that ovarian cysts are causing her severe pain.’

Shannon has faced several health challenges recently. In addition to a full hysterectomy, she’s been dealing with other ongoing medical problems.

She shared with DailyMail.com that she’s still managing some health problems and prefers to keep details private until she and her doctors have a clearer understanding of her condition and treatment plan.

‘So, the only thing that I’ve came public with is a hysterectomy, not the other health issues.’

The matriarch is also sober following her public battle with addiction five years ago.

Honestly, I’ve been completely clean and sober for five and a half years now. That means no cigarettes, no alcohol – nothing at all. It’s amazing, because I’ve reached a point where I rarely even think about the person I used to be before I made this change.

In 2024, Mama June shared that she’s been adapting to life since becoming a caregiver for her granddaughter.

Following her daughter Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell’s death from cancer in December 2023 at age 29, the actress fought for custody of her 12-year-old granddaughter, Kaitlyn, against Anna’s ex-husband, Michael Cardwell. This legal battle significantly impacted her new relationship with Justin Stroud.

She explained to People that Kaitlyn has been living with them for over a year. This is because they now live in the house where Anna died, and Kaitlyn is still adjusting to the situation.

Kaitlyn is remarkably similar to Anna – it’s like seeing Anna as a teenager again. Her personality, speech, and mannerisms are all just like Anna’s were at that age!

It’s been incredibly tough without her being present for our daughters, and honestly, a lot of difficult things have come up. We recently went through a custody battle, thankfully we were successful, but then Michael also took Kylee, his other daughter, and moved her all the way to Alabama, separating her from everyone here. It’s been a really challenging time for all of us.

It’s been a bit of a change for Justin and me. For the first year we were together, it was just the two of us – we didn’t have any children living with us.

The actress shared that they’ve been making an effort to include Anna’s husband, Eldridge Toney, who she married shortly before her passing, and everyone is still adjusting to life a year after the heartbreaking event.

She explained that Anna and Eldridge, along with their children, moved into her house before she died, and now Kaitlyn lives there. She said everyone is just getting used to the changes.

It’s actually pretty good because if anything happens, I’ll call my daughter, Pumpkin, and then share it with the family in our group chat, letting everyone know what’s up.

To be honest, we’ve been trying to include Eldridge, because Anna definitely would have wanted him involved.

I’ve noticed we often rely on Eldridge for help with certain things, but there are also issues we prefer to handle internally, as a family, working through them ourselves.
