Here are the customization options in iOS 18

As a seasoned gamer and an ardent iPhone user, I can confidently say that iOS 18 has been a long-awaited breath of fresh air! The customization options it brings are not just exciting, but they also cater to the needs of users like myself who crave personalization.

More customization options come with iOS 18.

As an avid iPhone user, I’m thrilled about the recent iOS 18 update! Packed with numerous new changes and features, this update is all about enhancing our user experience. From extensive personalization options to robust security updates, it’s going to make life easier for us iPhone enthusiasts. What’s more, the update spans across a wide range of devices, most of which have been in production since around seven years ago, meaning a vast number of users will benefit from this upgrade. Here’s a glimpse into the exciting customization possibilities that iOS 18 has to offer!

Home Screen Customization in iOS 18

  • Flexible Layout: iPhone users can now arrange app icons and widgets anywhere on the Home Screen. This includes the place above the dock giving the Home Screen layout a more prominent look. The personalization will appeal to a large section of iPhone users who have been demanding this for a long time.
  • Widgets: Users can now resize widgets as well as change the look. This would include a dark or tinted appearance for some widgets which would be incredibly useful to match certain types of home screens.
  • Change the Design: You can also leave blank spaces on the Home screen, which would be an excellent way of segregating different types of apps. You could keep transport apps together, design apps in a separate block, and similar types of personalization.
  • Custom Icons: Finally, users can also personalize their experience by customizing apps and selecting different designs for their apps.

Lock Screen Customization in iOS 18

  • Lock Screen Controls: You can now change or remove the controls at the bottom of the Lock Screen. You can replace the camera app with other apps such as Torch or Calculator.
  • Gradient Clock: The Lock Screen Clock can now feature Gradient colors which would go well with certain wallpapers and background images to match your style.

For iPhone users, it’s possible to designate preferred photos of people, pets, locations, and other subjects, which then automatically play in a rotating format across various parts of the app. This feature simplifies the process of reminiscing about specific moments in life.

At the September 9 event, the main attraction was showcasing the customization options for iPhone users in iOS 18. Apple announced that this new software will be available for devices from September 16, 2024, which is only a few days before the launch of the iPhone 16.
