Her number one! Claire Sweeney makes a rare red carpet appearance with son Jaxon, 7, as they attend The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical launch night – following her split from Ricky Hatton

As a seasoned observer of human relationships, I find it heartening to see two people who have built successful careers and found love along the way. Claire and Ricky, with their respective accomplishments in acting and boxing, have clearly navigated the complexities of life with grace and tenacity.

At the high-profile premiere of The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical, Claire Sweeney maintained an upbeat demeanor despite her separation from Ricky Hatton.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase that sentence like this: This month, I shared the news about my separation, but stepping out near the Dominion Theatre in London, I was all smiles and laughter, sharing jokes and good times with my son.

Claire drew attention in a dazzling, shimmering white gown that boasted a voluminous design, complete with a matching translucent cape and stylish silver pumps.

For the glamorous event, she styled her golden hair straight after blow-drying it, and paired it with bold, crimson lips and a luminous spectrum of cosmetics.

On Sunday night, while seven-year-old Jaxon, Claire’s son, wore a dapper tuxedo with a matching bowtie, he snuggled affectionately next to his mother on the red carpet.

As an over-the-moon admirer, I couldn’t help but notice the heartwarming spectacle of their affectionate interaction. Their faces lit up with ear-to-ear grins, and they shared contagious laughter that filled the air between them.

It comes as Claire broke her silence on her split from Ricky Hatton at the glitzy event. 

They had been together for eight months following their appearance on ITV’s Dancing On Ice, dating in secrecy and later taking a vacation to Tenerife in May, but now their romantic journey has come to an end.

However, following their summer vacation, the 46-year-old boxer and ex-Brookside actress have decided to go separate ways – a split occurring several months after Claire discussed their shared humor and mutual affection for the TV sitcom Only Fools and Horses.

The duo were most recently seen together on November 13, in Manchester, during their visit to the stage adaptation of the popular TV show that’s currently touring across the UK.

At last weekend’s red-carpet event for The Devil Wears Prada, I had the chance to speak with her about our history for the very first time. TopMob was there to capture it all, and here’s what she shared: “Things are fantastic between us! We’ve always been pals, we dated, and now we’re friends once more. It’s just peachy!

She combed her golden-blond hair into a bounce-perfect blowout, and chose a vibrant red lipstick for the evening event.

Previously, Claire from Coronation Street shared that she and Ricky had been acquainted for 25 years prior to feelings developing between them. Meanwhile, Ricky, the boxing champion, found it pleasant that they could bond after both having ended their previous relationships.

Claire found herself unattached since her split from ex-boyfriend Daniel Reilly, father of their son Jaxon, back in 2017. Similarly, Ricky, who has three kids, was available as well after his relationship with hairstylist Angela Blemmings concluded two years ago.

According to a source, Claire and Ricky continue to maintain a strong friendship, as there’s been no rift or disagreement between them.

‘They decided they’re better off as pals and are no longer romantically together. 

They had a great time together and share many common hobbies, yet their daily routines differ significantly.

‘While Claire is one of the biggest stars on Coronation Street and is very career-gliding, Ricky’s more freewheeling and unpredictable.

As a die-hard fan, I can hardly contain my excitement as Ricky prepares to jet off to Tenerife, a place that feels like home to him. On the other hand, Claire is pouring all her passion and energy into her career, momentarily setting aside romantic pursuits.

‘She has been consoled by celebrity friends and fellow cast members.’ 

During my recent guesting on Lorraine in July, I shared a heartwarming story about how, after 25 years of cherished friendship with Ricky, we discovered a deep, romantic bond had been there all along.

She mentioned that they had crossed paths at various events, collaborated on a TV show, but their first encounter was actually in La Manga during the early 2000s. They also danced together for Comic Relief in 2013, and later met again on Dancing On Ice. All these experiences have been wonderful for her.

TopMob has approached Ricky and Claire’s representatives for comment.

Ricky discovered love with Claire at a time he didn’t anticipate, during his participation in Dancing On Ice the previous year.

The welterweight boxer explained: ‘I didn’t go on Dancing On Ice to find romance, I just went in hoping I wouldn’t break my f***ing neck.

I’ve been acquainted with Claire for some time now. We’ve crossed paths at several gatherings and various occasions throughout the years. Each encounter we’ve shared has resulted in a comfortable rapport and mutual understanding.

‘We ended up both training in Altrincham, Claire’s on Coronation Street and she’s from Liverpool so we used to train at the same time.

During our ice skating training, we hit it off right from the start. As we ventured to London for the actual performance, our connection grew even stronger.
