As a longtime fan who’s followed Henry Golding’s career since his breakout role in “Crazy Rich Asians”, I must say I was thrilled to stumble upon “Assassin Club” on Netflix. This underrated gem, despite its lackluster box office performance and initial negative reviews, is a hidden treasure for those who appreciate Golding’s versatility as an actor.
If watching Henry Golding bring tears to your eyes during the holiday season in “Last Christmas” has left you wanting more, consider exploring one of his less popular movies that recently appeared on Netflix.
The “Assassin Club” is a 2023 thriller where Golding plays the role of an assassin assigned to take out several dangerous targets who are also after him. Alongside Golding, this action-packed film boasts an impressive cast that includes Daniela Melchior from “The Suicide Squad”, Noomi Rapace known for “Prometheus”, Sam Neil famous for “Jurassic Park”, and Jimmy Jean-Louis recognized for his work on “Heroes”.

Initially, this movie was only shown in a limited number of countries and earned a modest $188,292 globally (according to Box Office Mojo). Critics didn’t give it high marks upon its debut, as it received a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, it has since improved and now holds a 13% rating.
Ever since this game got revived on the streaming service here in the UK and Ireland, I can’t help but wonder if it’ll find new popularity like other games that seemed to have been lost to time.
2024 marked the debut of “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare,” a film that brought author William Golding and director Guy Ritchie together again, following their collaboration on “The Gentlemen.

In the future, Golding can be expected to appear in “Head Games,” a gripping sci-fi thriller where a crafty thief becomes entangled in a puzzling game. He’ll share the screen with the renowned Samuel L. Jackson in this exciting production.
Additionally, Golding has more projects lined up. These include sequels to the Netflix superhero movie “The Old Guard” and “A Simple Favor,” a film that marked his initial team-up with director Paul Feig prior to “Last Christmas.
Excitedly, I’m sharing that “Assassin Club” is now streaming in the UK and Ireland on Netflix, and also on Paramount+. For my friends across the pond in the US, you can catch it on Amazon Prime Video or MGM+! Enjoy the thrill!
