Fans are going crazy over Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky‘s Byron Bay pad – and here’s why.

In 2014, a couple acquired an expansive 4.2 hectare estate and, since then, they have constructed a high-tech mansion valued at approximately $50 million on the property. The community has affectionately nicknamed this impressive dwelling “Fortress Hemsworth” as reported by realestate.com.au.

As a die-hard admirer, let me tell you about this heavenly abode that leaves me spellbound! This lavish residence offers breathtaking vistas of the vast Pacific Ocean. Inside, it flaunts no less than six grand bedrooms, each one more inviting than the next. It’s not just a house; it’s a wellness sanctuary with an indoor and outdoor gymnasium for those health-conscious moments. For the film enthusiasts like me, it boasts a media room where I can lose myself in my favorite movies. If that wasn’t enough, this marvel also houses a spa to pamper my senses and a bowling alley to unleash my inner competitive spirit!

However, even though the property boasts numerous luxurious features, it’s the expansive swimming pool, owned by the Hemsworth family, that has sparked much conversation among people.

The 50-meter pool stretches out endlessly, akin to infinity, as adoring fans of the couple describe it. This expansive pool matches the standard size for Olympic swimming competitions.

So much so that in some pictures, it’s hard to tell where the pool ends and the ocean starts.  

What’s particularly shocking is the high estimated construction cost for the pool, which could reach up to an astounding $500,000.

In March, Elsa disclosed that the move to Australia with her husband Chris was primarily driven by a desire to re-establish perspective.

In a conversation with News Corp, Elsa (aged 48) expressed that she and her partner felt the city of Los Angeles, their previous residence, to be overly ‘confining’.

‘When you’re in Los Angeles, work suffocates you,’ she said.

She mentioned that Byron Bay is quite distant from the persistent buzz of gossip and work discussions that are common in Los Angeles, often referred to as the City of Angels.

In that location, every discussion and street signage revolves around the realm of film and its associated industries, she pointed out.

She continued: ‘It can make you lose perspective.’

It was a sentiment that Hemsworth, 41, shared in an interview with Modern Luxury back in 2020.

He expressed that while he truly enjoys his work as an actor, being immersed in it all the time can sometimes feel a little overwhelming.

It’s enjoyable to engage in discussions with individuals who aren’t entirely immersed in that specific sphere.

Chris Hemsworth noted that Byron Bay offered a more tranquil setting for nurturing his kids, India (age 12) and twins Sasha and Tristan (both age 10).

Navigating Los Angeles with children can be challenging due to limited pedestrian activity. Instead, it’s mostly about packing the car and securing the car seats.

In this case, we simply step outside, stroll towards the beach nearby. Living here seems remarkably straightforward and uncomplicated.

In 2021, I was part of a fortunate couple who finally completed our grand estate, a magnificent mansion that has been a labor of love for us. Since we moved in, this majestic abode has seen an impressive surge in value.

As a seasoned lifestyle connoisseur, I recall that initial appraisals placed the value of this LA-inspired estate nestled in the serene enclave of Broken Head, Byron Bay, at an impressive $20 million. However, property experts back then were convinced it was worth a staggering $30 million due to its unique blend of style and location.

More recent valuations had placed the pad at $50million.

This residence boasts six bedrooms, a spa, entertainment spaces for games and media, along with expansive outdoor lounging zones.
