As a devoted fan of the Hemsworth brothers, I am beyond ecstatic about Luke’s latest role! After ditching Hollywood for his Australian roots, our beloved Territory legend is back and better than ever as Jason Wade in Deadloch. The man can do no wrong, especially when he’s wrestling crocs!

Instead of the glamour of Hollywood, Luke Hemsworth has chosen to embrace his Australian heritage for his newest part in a highly successful comedy series, leaving behind the glitter of Tinseltown.

In the upcoming second season of the widely acclaimed Amazon Prime Video show from Australia, the 44-year-old actor has been cast as a captivating reptile handler and proprietor of a wildlife reserve, taking on a fresh character.

As a die-hard admirer, I can hardly contain my excitement! It’s mind-blowing to learn that the elder sibling of Liam and Chris Hemsworth is about to embody Jason Wade, a legendary figure hailing from the Territory, who’s poised to infuse a thrilling dose of peril into our beloved mystery series. Can’t wait to see it unfold!

Pictures taken during filming reveal Luke portraying the lead role in “Jason Wade’s Adventures Down Under.” He is displayed flexing his athletic build while dressed in his wildlife park attire.

In the initial installment of Deadloch, we delve into the tale of a tranquil Tasmanian town, whose peace is shattered as a resident meets an untimely demise before the Winter Festival commences.

A pair of investigators, accompanied by a young, enthusiastic police officer, must delve into a grisly incident in a popular dark comedy show, only to encounter some unforeseen turns along the way.

Luke, famed for portraying Ashley Stubbs on HBO’s Westworld, will be teaming up once more with stars Kate Box, Madeleine Sami, and Nina Oyama for the upcoming season.

During the latest season, Dulcie (Kate) and Eddie (Madeleine) find themselves in Darwin, probing into the demise of Eddie’s ex-policing companion Bushy. However, their work takes an unexpected turn as a corpse is unearthed, leading them to another investigation.

The production process began in the Northern Territory and subsequently transitioned to Brisbane, Queensland, for filming in areas with fewer risks of encountering crocodiles.

Show creators Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan expressed their delight, stating that they were extremely pleased with the casting choice as Luke fits perfectly in the role, making it a flawless match for the show.

Previously, Luke had teamed up with his sibling Chris following his appearance in the 2017 movie Thor: Ragnarok.

Instead of portraying the main Marvel character himself like his younger brother Chris does, Luke amusingly took on the role of an actor playing Thor in a stage production.

In a comical scene, Loki (played by Tom Hiddleston) employs actors to impersonate himself. Among them is Luke, who takes on the role of a theatrical representation of Thor, but in an unflattering manner.

In the play, he was joined by Matt Damon, who played Loki, causing a frenzy among Marvel enthusiasts due to the unexpected star appearances.

In Thor: Love and Thunder, the narrative of the embedded film resurfaced, where we saw Luke briefly returning on screen during the movie’s release.

Chris’ sibling, Liam, was similarly associated with the Thor series; Chris himself had confessed that Liam came close to landing the main part.

In 2015, Chris disclosed that he initially didn’t get selected for the final four auditions; instead, his younger sibling Liam was chosen.

‘I had an audition with Ken [Branagh, for Thor] that didn’t go very well. I remember walking out thinking, “Oh well, there goes that opportunity”,’ he told Vanity Fair.

He mentioned that there was no rivalry with Liam; instead, he remembered thinking something along the lines of ‘it’s fine if either of us gets it’. Later on, he learned that his brother had been selected instead of him.

One time, while flipping through industry publications, Joss Whedon came across an article featuring the final four contenders for the role of Thor. When he saw Liam, he was asked, “Isn’t that your sibling?”, to which he replied affirmatively.

Chris recounted that the screenwriter and director had asked him, “What on earth is keeping you out of the running?” To this, he responded plainly, “I didn’t receive a follow-up call.

‘They were like, “This is crazy”…”No way, that should be you”.’

Chris mentioned that Liam didn’t get the part in the end due to being a bit too young at the moment, but his manager successfully arranged another casting call for him.

In my recent journey, I found myself returning with renewed determination, giving it another go on multiple occasions. It seemed like this time around, I approached things differently – perhaps it was the extra push I received after seeing my little brother make a breakthrough that I hadn’t quite managed yet. I shared these thoughts with Wired.

He mentioned that getting chosen for this ongoing series was his “ideal situation” as it allows him to stay “current” or “up-to-date” within the acting industry.

Following his defeat against Chris for the superhero movie part, Liam quickly landed the role of Gale Hawthorne in the action series The Hunger Games within a few months.
