On Monday, Helen Skelton reconnected with her Morning Live colleague Gethin Jones, who was back at work following a period away due to the passing of his father.

Despite no joint appearance, Helen was spotted grinning as she grabbed two coffees, approximately a few weeks following news about them choosing to “temporarily distance themselves romantically.

Gethin shared the sad news that his father passed away about three weeks back, following a prolonged illness.

He posted a photo, where he’s grinning next to his father in the hospital, along with a touching tribute expressing the deep affection he holds for the person who is evidently very important to him.

In a post, Gethin shared the well-known quote by Max Boyce: “Wales emerged victorious against England.” He mentioned that they sang hymns and arias together with his father last night, and sadly, he passed away this morning.

In a serene and flawless conclusion, gentle Welsh hymns played while family members said their farewells over the speakerphone.

In the tranquil final moments, melodies of Welsh hymns filled the air as grandchildren bid their goodbyes through the speakerphone.

Gethin disclosed that his father had been fighting an ailment for some time, while emphasizing the role laughter played in supporting his family during those tough times.

He mentioned that his father had been unwell for some time, yet he fought valiantly, truly remarkable in my opinion. It was heartwarming to witness his wit, the significance of his faith, and his deep affection for classical music become evident towards the end.

It’s likely that he imparted knowledge to them at one stage. For many years, he significantly influenced the educational landscape in this region.
