Helen Skelton cosies up to border collie for wholesome snaps at the Great Yorkshire Show amid rumoured romance with co-host Gethin Jones

On the opening day of the Great Yorkshire Show on Tuesday, Helen Skelton continued to impress with her radiant appearance as she lounged under the sun while donning a cowboy hat.

During the initial days of a festive event, the 41-year-old television host – rumored to be in a relationship with co-presenter Gethin Jones, aged 47 – paused for some heartwarming snapshots alongside Bob the Border Collie.

This year, I’m thrilled to be part of an extraordinary tradition that’s turning 166 years old. It’s a grand celebration held in the charming northern town of Harrogate, where we honor the crème de la crème of farming, food, and the countryside.

On the debut day of the show, Helen was among numerous attendees. She radiated joy for the event, flashing a bright smile for pictures.

In these photos, a stunning blonde woman, dressed in a set of blue denim jeans, matching brown boots, and a fashionable vest, is seen affectionately embracing an endearing dog.

On a day when the thermometer hit 25 degrees Celsius, Helen shielded herself from the sun while sporting a fashionable, chocolate-hued cowboy hat atop her head. Her golden hair cascaded down her back as she let it freely fall past her shoulder area.

Helen’s rumoured new partner, television star Gethin, was however nowhere to be seen. 

In the past few months, it’s rumored that their bond, initially developed during shared screen time, may have grown into a deeper relationship.

According to the source, Helen and Gethin share a very strong professional bond, and it seems that over the past few months, their friendship has grown into something more profound.

Throughout his journey, Gethin openly commended the woman’s unyielding spirit and wit, while expressing his affection for her by mentioning how enjoyable it is to be in her company.

Later on, Helen returned the compliment by posting on social media after the contest: “Dear @gethinjonesc… What a remarkable individual you are.

‘I don’t always express how much I love and admire you as my friend because I believe it’s already clear, but just to make it official – you’re an incredible person and I am incredibly thankful for having you with me on the ice, on the couch, and in every aspect of our lives.’

After attending several prominent functions, it appeared that Helen and her Welsh colleague might have developed their relationship beyond friendship, as they were spotted spending a weekend getaway at a countryside club.

In the thrill of my unbridled fandom, I couldn’t help but fuel the rumor mill when Helen and Gethin were spotted together, cruising through Manchester on a motorbike, their camaraderie palpable in the air.

Helen and Gethin are however yet to publicly confirm their romance on social media or on-air.  

Since her high-profile split with husband Richie Myler in 2022, Helen has remained unmarried and is a mother to their three kids: Ernie (age 9), Louis (8), and Elsie (3).

34-year-old rugby league player ended his nine-year marriage with Helen. He moved out of their shared residence, and later, the former Strictly star expressed her sadness about his departure on Instagram.

The former Blue Peter host opened up about the challenges she faced following the end of her marriage, revealing in her memoir that she felt stunned and blindsided by the separation, as they parted ways just four months after welcoming their youngest child.

In 2023, Helen made a decision to leave her hosting position on BBC Radio 5 Live because of her strong dedication to her family, choosing instead to invest more time with them. This was the reason behind her stepping down from her role as a Countryfile star.

Richie is currently in a relationship with Stephanie Thirkill, who is the daughter of Leeds Rhinos’ president, Andrew Thirkill. Together, they have had two kids, named Olivia and Freddie.

In the meantime, Gethin finds himself unattached after a short stint with First Dates celebrity, Cici Coleman, back in 2023.

In the past, he was involved in relationships with Lucy Mecklenburgh from TOWIE in 2014, and Katja Zwara, a German lingerie model, in 2017.

However, his longest romantic involvement was a four-year relationship with the renowned Welsh opera singer, Katherine Jenkins, which commenced in 2007.
