On the weekend, former WAG (Wife of a soccer player) Helen Flanagan cheered on her ex-footballer partner Scott Sinclair during his Bristol Rovers game, marking exactly two years since they parted ways.

Previously known for her role on Coronation Street, a 34-year-old woman brought along her children – Matilda (9), Delilah (6), and Charlie (3) – to watch the game where Blackburn Rovers faced off against Wigan Athletic. Unfortunately, the Rovers ended up losing with a score of 2-0.

Helen and Scott, 35, split in 2022 and she is now in a relationship with Robbie Talbot, 43.

After last week, Helen posted a mysterious message on Instagram – just a few days following her six-month driving ban.

She received a suspension at Wirral Magistrates’ Court, as her claims of ‘exceptional hardship’ resulting from the ban being imposed were disregarded following her statements.

Helen, primarily recognized for portraying Rosie Webster on ITV’s soap opera, asserted that her partner, Robbie, was behind the wheel of their £66,000 Audi Q7 during two instances of speeding, which occurred 17 days apart in June last year.

Yet, she faced accusations for not providing details about the identity of a driver in connection with two separate incidents.

Following her court hearing, the mother of three reposted a message on her Instagram from podcast host Bryony Gordon.

Helen argued that due to her current financial hardships, she cannot cover the cost of the six-month suspension as she won’t have sufficient funds for expensive taxi services to transport her kids to school.

In their view, the magistrates didn’t find it convincing that a ban would significantly impact Helen’s situation, given she already possessed six penalty points on her driving license.

They also ordered her to pay a £2,000 fine, £800 victim surcharge and £110 for prosecution costs.

After the magistrates declined her requests for leniency, the actress exited the courtroom with a noticeable redness on her face. This was due to her plans to transport her children, visit their soccer-playing father Scott Sinclair, and attend therapy sessions.

Additionally, she mentioned that her secluded countryside residence required a 10-minute car ride just for grocery shopping, such as buying bread and milk. She admitted that life in this distant area would be particularly challenging without a vehicle.

Helen, residing close to Bolton in Greater Manchester, testified in court about her earnings last year being approximately £70,000; however, she emphasized that her income fluctuates and explained her financial difficulty in covering a £10 taxi fare for transporting her son to nursery.

Attorney Stephen Kirk explained that Helen, who already has six demerit points for speeding, neglected to identify the driver of the vehicle when it was caught speeding in various locations on Merseyside last June. Specifically, the car was clocked going 12 miles over the 30mph limit at one location and 11 mph over the 40mph limit at another.

The magistrates added six penalty points for every offense she committed, bringing her grand total to 18 points. This is significantly over the usual 12-point limit at which magistrates typically enforce a driving ban, except in cases where there’s an exceptional need for continued mobility.

In an attempt to save her license, Helen apologized, admitting she had naively believed that her boyfriend could claim responsibility for driving instead of herself.

Helen shared with the court that she dedicates her entire day as a “full-day” mother to Matilda, Delilah, and Charlie. She uses the car to transport them to preschool, school, and their various activities.

She mentioned that her primary role is taking care of their family at home, as their father is often away for work. Currently, it’s quite challenging for her to generate a stable income because she does make some money from social media, but the earnings aren’t consistent.

She mentioned, “It may seem like I could effortlessly pay for a driver, but that assumption is actually quite off the mark.

‘I’ve got enough money in my account to pay off my tax and my VAT and basically that’s about it.’

Whenever I need to take little Charlie to nursery and don’t have my car available, I resort to using an Uber taxi service. It’s quite a hefty expense, I must admit. At the moment, I’m finding it tough on the financial front.

The clerk asked about the price, and she replied, “This morning I took an Uber from home to the nursery which cost me £10.

She additionally stated that her son doesn’t travel comfortably in a taxi, and instead thrives more securely when fastened in a vehicle, ensuring his safety.

Afterward, Mr. Boyers explained that Helen began visiting a therapist named Liz in Birmingham as early as 2016 for her appointments.

Moved by her feelings, she mentioned that it would be challenging for her to ask too much of her parents, given that they already have numerous responsibilities and are approaching retirement age.

Helen mentioned that her parents are encountering challenges since they need to travel to Bangkok, Thailand, as her brother there is dealing with severe mental health issues.

The actress mentioned that her relationship with Scott, her former partner of 13 years, was extremely challenging. She also hinted that it would be too complex for Robbie to facilitate their interactions.

When inquired about discussing alternative plans with Scott regarding their kids, Helen responded, “I haven’t yet. My relationship with my former partner is extremely challenging and exhausting.

She said she had been ‘really, really angry’ at her boyfriend over the speeding.

Regarding not finishing the necessary paperwork, for which she received a conviction via the single justice process that handles motoring offenses in private courtrooms, Helen expressed her apologies by saying: “I’m truly sorry, I was incredibly foolish. I can’t express enough my remorse.

In essence, Mr. Boyers explained that as a mother of three, your inability to drive would significantly impact your ability to: transport the kids to nursery, facilitate visits with their father to preserve family ties, and attend necessary medical appointments. She mentioned that she has sufficient funds to cover her taxes, mortgage payments, and some tea expenses. That’s all.

When asked about her income, Helen admitted she isn’t particularly skilled in managing finances. She mentioned that if needed, her accountant could review her financial records.

The chairman of the magistrates’ court, David Holley, inquired whether Robbie could operate Helen’s vehicle if she were prohibited from driving it.

If my boyfriend were to take something valuable from me and then drive my car, it would make me extremely upset and uncomfortable. I can’t imagine that situation going smoothly for us.

As a conscientious individual, I gave a nod of understanding upon receiving my sentence and proposed a payment plan of £1,000 per month to cover the costs. In the end, I was assigned six penalty points for each offense I had committed.

With a look of surprise and flushing cheeks, she spun around and exited the courtroom without giving Robbie, who trailed behind her, any notice.

The actress did not respond to press requests for comment.
