Helen Flanagan is rushed to the doctors in her pyjamas with ‘painful’ health woes following mental health struggles
As I read through Helen’s heartfelt posts about her journey over the past year, I couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of admiration for her strength and resilience. It’s clear that she has faced immense challenges, from struggling with mental health issues to navigating the end of a long-term relationship.
However, what truly shines through is Helen’s ability to find hope and gratitude amidst the hardships. Her determination to prioritize her mental health, make amends with loved ones, and start anew with a new partner is inspiring. It’s a testament to her capacity for growth and healing, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for her.
One thing that really struck me was Helen’s raw honesty in sharing her experiences. By being open about her struggles, she has given a voice to so many who may be going through similar challenges. Mental health is such an important issue, and it’s crucial that we continue to talk about it openly and honestly.
On a lighter note, I can’t help but wonder what Helen would think if she knew that her resilience has inspired a joke: “Why did Helen feel like her head could explode? Because she was trying to fit all of her accomplishments in it!” I hope this brings a smile to her face and reminds us all to celebrate our own victories, no matter how small they may seem. Keep on shining, Helen!
Helen Flanagan recently disclosed that she had an unexpected visit to the doctor, dressed in her pajamas, due to some bothersome health issues. She posted a genuine photo on Instagram on Friday.
As a committed follower, I’d like to share that I found myself hurriedly visiting the doctor due to a water-related infection, a piece of news I felt compelled to pass on to my 1.1 million companions.
As a devoted enthusiast, I can’t help but share my insights on an issue close to my heart: Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs). You see, UTIs are a type of bacterial infection that can invade our precious urinary system, encompassing the bladder, ureters, kidneys, and urethra. It’s like an unwelcome guest crashing my body’s party!
She posted a snap of her legs crossed, wearing pink fluffy pyjamas to her Instagram Stories.
Accompanying the photo, she added this message: “Went to the doctor in my pajamas today due to a severe water infection that’s causing me quite a bit of pain.
Gladly, I found myself back among my beloved family once more, and eagerly, I took to social media to share my aspirations for the horizon year 2025 – goals that I am excited to pursue and achieve in the coming years.
In a recent heartfelt update, Helen looks back on her personal growth from the darkest moments of her mental health battles in 2024, when she had expressed feelings of wanting to be absent from her children’s lives.
After contemplating the contrast between this year’s Christmas compared to last, the actress confessed that, beyond the difficulties of co-parenting with her ex, Scott Sinclair, she found herself expressing feelings of despair, stating that her entire life seemed disorganized or chaotic.
In her debut post, Helen uploaded two photos: one captured during her New Year vacation in Bali, which took place in December 2023, and another depicting a cozy Christmas Day at home, as she let Scott take care of their kids on that special day.
At a point when she was grappling with severe mental health issues, she revealed that she had no more financial resources, and had also experienced strained relationships with several family members.
She wrote: ‘Just a little look on what a difference a year can make ❤️
A year ago during Christmas, I:
1. Spent most of the day in bed.
2. Visited my mom’s place briefly as my dad called me up.
3. Told Scott he could take our kids because we live quite far apart (I reside up north and he lives down south).
4. Planned to bring our children on a 10-day trip to Bali for the New Year, since I wanted to be fair.
Unexpectedly, it struck me like a bolt out of the blue. Earlier, I reassured my companions that “I’d be alright, it’s just a regular day.” However, the truth was that I was grappling with some serious mental health issues at the time.
That particular year, my love life turned out to be quite chaotic… I neglected my emotional well-being and my thought process. I found myself feeling incredibly low and melancholic.
Feeling utterly devastated, I thought my entire life had taken an unfortunate turn despite having the ideal family for thirteen years. My twenties were spent with this person, and it was a significant portion of my life. Regrettably, there were also numerous family disputes, and I ended up losing almost all my financial resources. Important to note, Scott and I were not legally married but were engaged.
As a person who has struggled with mental health issues, I know all too well the dark thoughts that can creep into one’s mind. There were times when I felt so overwhelmed that I questioned whether my kids would be better off without me. I knew deep down that their father was more stable and level-headed than I was in those moments of distress.
But let me assure you, my love for my children is immeasurable and beyond words. When I’m not well, it’s not because I don’t care about them or want to be there for them. It’s just that mental illness can make even the strongest bonds feel weak at times.
I hope one day, people will understand that mental health is just as important as physical health and will provide the support needed for those who are struggling. We all deserve to live our lives to the fullest, without the stigma and shame that often come with seeking help.
As a devoted admirer putting words to my feelings, I’d say: I confessed that my emotional turmoil deepened when I journeyed to enchanting Bali with my cherished offspring for the New Year celebration. The impending theatre tour loomed large in my mind, casting a shadow over our tranquility as it threatened to disrupt our family’s roots.
On New Year’s Eve, I found myself in Bali, but not celebrating as planned. Instead, I was by Matilda’s side at the hospital. She was battling Bell’s Palsy, which left half of her beautiful face paralyzed. It was a heart-wrenching experience because she’s my precious princess. The journey was grueling with three little children in tow. My mom suggested I leave the kids and focus on Matilda, but I couldn’t bear to be away from them. Love, x
New Year’s Eve was a difficult time for me as I was in Bali, not enjoying the festivities, but rather by Matilda’s side at the hospital. She was fighting Bell’s Palsy, leaving her with a paralyzed half-face, which was heartbreaking given she’s my cherished princess. It was a tough situation made more challenging with three young children to look after. My mom encouraged me to leave the kids and focus solely on Matilda, but I wanted them close by. With love, x
I accompanied my friend Beth, who assisted me with childcare, during that outing. At the time, I was mentally burdened and under a lot of stress as I agreed to embark on a six-month theatre tour, which commenced mid-January. Although I was thrilled about it and yearned to participate, I was extremely anxious about leaving my children behind. Extremely, extremely anxious.
Instead of homeschooling them, I considered the idea so they could stay with me, but then I realized it might not be fair to them since they were already comfortable in their current situation and their father didn’t support the idea of homeschooling.
As a lifestyle advisor, let me share my personal experience from a recent journey: The bulk of this trip found me exploring the southern regions, which left me grappling with an overwhelming sense of parental guilt. This was particularly intense given the additional challenge of my partner being absent due to work commitments.
Helen ultimately decided to withdraw from the theater tour, revealing later that she had been experiencing psychosis as a side effect of her ADHD medication at that time.
In a follow-up post, the ex-star from Coronation Street posted a picture showcasing where they celebrated Christmas 2021 – it was a family affair with her kids and parents at their residence.
She mentioned that during the last year, she’s taken actions to prioritize her emotional well-being and has started a relationship with Robbie Talbot.
She wrote: ‘Christmas this year – my babies at my mum and dad’s x meant so much to me x
2024 New Year’s Eve – I crossed paths with an extraordinary, hilarious fellow named Robbie. We spent the evening together, filled with laughter and joy that made the celebration truly unforgettable. X
Or:
New Year’s 2024 – The most memorable part of my night was meeting a charming, witty individual by the name of Robbie. Our shared merriment throughout the evening made for an incredible New Year’s experience. X
2024 saw me placing a significant emphasis on safeguarding my mental well-being. I managed to mend relationships with many dear ones and found some tranquility along the way.
Reflecting on my personal growth over the past year, I am incredibly thankful for the significant improvement in my mental clarity. While it’s true that no one’s life is perfect and everyone faces challenges, I can’t help but appreciate the abundance of blessings in my life now compared to this time last year. My gratitude stems from the fact that my head feels 70% clearer, allowing me to navigate through life with greater ease and clarity.
A year ago, I recall the sensation of being on the verge of an explosion within my mind. At that point, I truly believed I needed medication simply to manage basic functions.
I wanted to pass along some words of encouragement if anyone out there finds themselves in a tough spot… I know from personal experience that life can seem incredibly overwhelming at times, but trust me when I say that things can and will get better. It may not feel like it now, but remember to take one step at a time and keep pushing forward. You are stronger than you think, and you have the power to work through even the heaviest burdens. Hang in there and never give up on yourself or your dreams. Better days are ahead!
Helen previously revealed Scott, 35, had blocked her despite the pair sharing three children.
In the year 2022, they parted ways following a relationship spanning thirteen years. During this time, they were betrothed for four years. They share custody of their three offspring.
