Helen Flanagan can’t resist taking a swipe at ex fiancé Scott Sinclair as she shares passionate kiss with boyfriend Robbie Talbot in sweet birthday video montage
As a mental health advocate and someone who has been through toxic relationships myself, I can deeply empathize with Helen Flanagan‘s words. Her journey through love, heartbreak, and self-discovery is truly inspiring. It takes courage to acknowledge that a relationship, despite shared history and children, can be unhealthy.
On Thursday, Helen Flanagan playfully mentioned her former fiance, Scott Sinclair, when she posted a birthday message for her current boyfriend on Instagram.
In a heartfelt gesture, the 34-year-old actress expressed her affection by posting a charming video compilation to celebrate her partner, Robbie Talbot, who turned 45.
She posted multiple heartwarming clips, some showcasing tender moments between them (kissing), and others featuring him spending quality time with his kids.
Instead, she playfully acknowledged that he is the “most charming, considerate, and hilarious individual” she’s come across so far.
She titled her post as follows: “Happy Birthday to the sweetest, most thoughtful, and funniest individual I’ve come across – @robbietalbs! Thank you for taking care of me, and know that I hold a special place in my heart for you ❤️xxx
One fan wrote: ‘Aw he honestly seems so lovely❤️you both look so happy x’; ‘Perfect couple ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️’
‘Happy birthday @robbietalbs’; ‘So happy for you Helen ❤️❤️’
Following the disclosure that her ex-fiancé had cut off contact, despite their shared custody of three kids, this situation arose.
In the year 2022, Helen ended her relationship with Scott, who was then 35, following a thirteen-year journey together, during which they were engaged for four years.
They share children Matilda, nine, Delilah, six, and Charlie, three.
For the very first time, she openly admitted that the two of them were not a good match.
On The Mail’s The Life of Bryony podcast, she expressed: ‘There’s often discussion about not needing a partner for happiness.’
In my perspective, I don’t necessarily require a partner to find happiness, yet having a healthy relationship indeed makes a significant difference when transitioning from an unhealthy one.
Helen said that her relationship with Scott Sinclair was unhealthy.
I want to make it clear that there’s no lack of respect towards the father of my kids. We’ve shared parenthood together on three beautiful children, and my heart has always been filled with affection for him.
‘We’re both good people, but together we were very toxic.’
‘It seems to me that a harmful relationship could significantly impact your psychological well-being, and it might be even more detrimental if you’re already dealing with mental health issues.’
‘I mean, I’m on block at the moment on Scott’s phone. I really am. I’m on block.’
As a lifestyle guide, I can tell you that sometimes, despite the frustrations and misunderstandings, there’s an underlying bond between us that’s more profound than it seems. Deep down, I believe he harbors a deep affection for me. There’s a certain respect we share for each other, a testament to our individual journeys and challenges in life. Rest assured, he’s not a bad person; he’s just navigating his own unique set of circumstances.
Since we’ve been together since our teen years, at only 19, it seems we didn’t have enough time to mature and develop independently before separating, which might be the reason why things didn’t work out between us.
Approximately a month back, Helen made an appearance on the program “Celebs Go Dating.” However, she faced criticism after admitting that she already had a hidden boyfriend who wasn’t involved in the show.
Since last month, the head of a construction company has been residing in the house previously owned by the actor from Coronation Street. This marks eight months since they started dating.
Asked by Bryony about her new relationship, she said: ‘He’s lovely.’
‘Everybody loves him.’
‘I just met him at a bar.’
‘I literally, I just, I could not stop laughing at this guy.’
‘My boyfriend’s actually the funniest guy I’ve ever met.’
‘He’s got two kids and he’s, he’s really beautiful with my children.’
What struck me even more about him is his exceptional care for my mental wellbeing, which happens to be my top priority.
What I require is someone who positively impacts me on a mental and emotional level, as this is my utmost priority, and it’s something I’ve come to recognize.
‘Though I’ll forever cherish my ex as the father of my kids, he struggled to handle me in ways some people might, and there’s nothing wrong with that. However, the man I’m currently with seems to understand me better, which brings me joy.’
