Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams’ daughter Matilda looks just like her late dad on rare outing in NYC
Matilda Williams enjoyed a bundled up coffee run on Sunday.
19-year-old was seen sipping coffee a few days prior to the 16th anniversary of her father, Heath Ledger’s passing, reminiscing the moments spent together.
In the bustling Brooklyn area of New York City, Matilda found herself meeting up with a friend over coffee, and it was plain to see that she bore a striking resemblance to her father.
Even as the chill hung in the air, Matilda shielded herself with a green jacket and jeans. A pair of vibrant red flats adorned her feet, while she effortlessly swung a tote bag that matched her shoes.
In a friendly conversation with her companion, Matilda – daughter of Michelle Williams – beamed radiantly while holding a big mug of coffee.
On January 22, 2008, Matilda’s father Heath passed away in an apartment in New York City, tragically due to a drug overdose that occurred after prolonged periods of both physical and emotional strain.

As a lifestyle guide, I regretfully share that, tragically, the remarkable actor who brought the Dark Knight to life lost his battle with life at just 28 years old. His untimely demise was due to a lethal combination of substances he ingested, leaving behind an adoring two-year-old daughter, a poignant reminder of his enduring spirit.
Michelle, who had a romantic connection with Heath from 2004 to 2007 following their encounter on the set of Brokeback Mountain, opted to bring up Matilda in a less public setting.
Following Heath’s passing, the actor from Blue Valentine decided to take a break from acting and relocated to upstate New York alongside Matilda.
Previously, she mentioned that the decision was driven by her aim to create a peaceful living space for her child.
She shared with the New York Post in June 2016 that we had relocated, specifically leaving Brooklyn behind, and chose to live in a rural area for about six years as city life had become unbearable for us.
In due course, Michelle opted to go back to New York City and purchased a home in Brooklyn, which was her former residence prior to relocation.
Prior to their separation, Michelle and Heath co-owned a luxurious townhouse worth about $3.6 million situated in Boerum Hill, a quaint area located in the northwest corner of the borough.
In a 2012 interview with GQ, Michelle (currently married to theatre director Thomas Kail) expressed her desire to have Matilda’s siblings at that time.

She deeply wished and envisioned that Matilda would grow up with siblings around the same age. It was something she desired for her. Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to bring that into reality.
Now that she’s turned six, it seems like that dream is no longer within reach. Yet, the anticipation I once felt has somehow dissipated. Maybe it wasn’t meant to be, or maybe we were never destined for that journey.
Eight years down the line, she discovered her blissful conclusion with Thomas, whom she wedded in 2020. In the same year, they were blessed with a son, and another child joined their family in 2022.
