Hudson Williams and his girlfriend, Katelyn Larson, attended the Vanity Fair Oscars party in Los Angeles on Sunday, marking Williams’ first time on the red carpet.
The star of Heated Rivalry, who is 25 years old, has mostly kept his relationship private, rarely posting pictures of him and his partner on social media.
Hudson, known for his role in the popular queer hockey romance show, announced he was dating someone on Valentine’s Day.
He publicly revealed his new relationship with a tattoo artist on social media, then brought her as his date to a glamorous event in Hollywood this weekend.
Before attending the party, Hudson mentioned on the Oscars red carpet that his partner values her privacy, and he appreciates the support his fans have shown her.
Hudson talked to Tyrone Edward from the Canadian show etalk about how fans responded after he revealed their relationship on social media.
Tyrone asked him about the Valentine’s Day post of his girlfriend, wondering what kind of messages he’d been receiving since then.
Hudson explained he hadn’t looked at his direct messages yet, and then commented on how well everyone was accepting the situation and how supportive the fans were.
She really dislikes being the center of attention or appearing a certain way. She constantly says she doesn’t want people to form opinions about her.
‘They’re still just being really warm, from what I’ve been told, and that’s really nice.’
Both Hudson and Katelyn chose bold outfits. Hudson highlighted his physique with a see-through sleeveless shirt and black pants.
Hudson’s blouse also featured a trailing scarf for added drama.
Katelyn wore a sheer black lace dress that showed off her figure, revealing a glimpse of her midriff.
Hudson was photographed at the party with Connie Storrie, his co-star who plays his character’s love interest and hockey opponent, Ilya Rozanov.
Inspired by Rachel Reid’s Game Changers novels, the series centers on a hidden romance between two athletes on opposing teams.
Hudson stars as Shane Hollander, the captain of the Montreal Metros, and Connor plays Ilya, the captain of the Boston Raiders.
The strong chemistry and intimate scenes between the main actors created a lot of excitement among viewers, and quickly led to public interest in the actors’ personal relationships.
Hudson, who became well-known for his role in the popular show, recently confirmed he is dating Katelyn.
Hudson, who usually keeps his personal life to himself, shared a Valentine’s Day message for his girlfriend on Instagram, posting a collection of her photos to his Stories.
He didn’t share her name or how they met, but confirmed they’ve been together for a long time, recalling a moment when he first knew she was special: when she was there for him after his old Mazda broke down and he was unemployed.
He sweetly included a photo of his girlfriend sitting next to Connor at a restaurant, with a heart playfully drawn around Connor’s face.
Hudson shared more photos, including cozy pictures with his girlfriend and a screenshot from one of their video chats.
Katelyn was previously featured in a photo album Hudson shared on Instagram on January 31st, showing pictures from their trip to Italy.
Connor also appeared in the album, featured in a cute video of him enjoying an ice cream sundae with Hudson’s girlfriend at a restaurant.
Hudson rarely talks about his personal life, and people have been intensely curious about it ever since the show Heated Rivalry turned him into a popular figure.
A rumor began in December that Hudson was secretly dating a tattoo artist. She had previously given both him and Connor matching tattoos reading ‘Sex Sells,’ as revealed in a popular clip from the DeuxMoi gossip podcast.
The video, which also received harsh criticism for its acting in the “Heated Rivalry” segment, sparked a lot of negative reactions and was eventually removed. Before it was taken down, Hudson publicly stated, ‘I’ve really started to dislike you, Deuxmoi.’
Recently, people have been speculating about a romantic connection between Connor and his “Heated Rivalry” co-star, Francois Arnaud. Arnaud, a French Canadian actor who plays hockey captain Scott Hunter for the New York Admirals, has been seen with Connor, sparking the rumours.
Last month, the Daily Mail reported that Arnaud was seen getting inappropriately touchy with Robbie G.K., another actor from Heated Rivalry (who plays Kip Grady), at a Golden Globes afterparty.
Despite fans hoping they were a couple, Hudson and Connor have repeatedly stated that their relationship is just a close friendship.
You know, as things with the show really took off, I was telling W magazine just how much my best friend, Hudson, means to me. Honestly, I can’t even imagine navigating all of this without him by my side. He’s been such a rock!
We were both at a turning point in our lives, having left our jobs almost simultaneously. We impulsively booked this trip and flew out right away. Now, we’re suddenly gaining international attention, which has been incredible. Meeting Hudson has made this amazing experience even more special.
In a Deadline interview, Hudson explained that he wants to see LGBTQ+ stories told by LGBTQ+ creators. He also shared that he and his co-star, Connor, have a close, physical friendship that they enjoy portraying.
It’s tough when people jump to conclusions or make assumptions, and you have to accept that. But I also don’t want to stop showing Connor how I feel physically, and I don’t plan to. I believe it’s possible to feel multiple things at the same time.
