The new thriller, April X, featuring Connor Storrie and Lilly Krug, will have its first UK showing soon! Fans won’t have to wait long to see it.
Set in the not-too-distant future, the movie features Anya Storrie as Bax. When her twin sister, April (played by Krug), vanishes under mysterious circumstances, Bax finds herself in a dangerous quest to find her.
The sci-fi thriller, which premiered at US festivals last year, will debut in the UK at the Raindance Film Festival, running from June 17th to 26th. It’s been chosen as the opening gala film and will be shown at Vue West End in London’s Leicester Square.

Producer Lavinia Postolache expressed her excitement about having April X open Raindance, saying the festival is known for supporting daring and original filmmakers. She believes the film’s themes of identity, guilt, and relationships make it a great fit for the event.
Described as a fast-paced, futuristic thriller, April X is directed and co-written by Michel K Parandi. The film follows Bax as he spirals into desperation while searching every hidden part of a city formerly in the Soviet Union.

Raindance, a festival known for supporting new filmmakers, is excited to launch its 34th year with April X, an impressive and original science fiction film by first-time director Michel K Parandi, according to festival founder Elliot Grove.
The film has been well-received since its first showing, earning a user rating of 7.7 out of 10 on IMDb based on over 250 votes. One reviewer even gave it 9 out of 10 stars, calling the story “smart and well-crafted.”
I thought this movie was fantastic! It’s full of realistic details and subtle symbolism, giving it a lot of depth. The story is set in a world that feels very similar to our own, and it has a few unexpected twists and turns, which I really enjoyed.

Another viewer praised the film’s visuals, noting the beautiful close-up shots and effective use of filming locations. They also appreciated that the CGI wasn’t overdone.
I’m super hyped for the festival’s opening – they’re showing a brand new animated short with Gorillaz, called The Mountain, The Moon Cave and The Sad God! And to finish things off, the closing gala will be the European premiere of a documentary about Eddie Cochran, called Eddie Cochran: Don’t Forget Me. It sounds like a great way to bookend the whole event.
The film April X will debut at the Raindance Film Festival on June 17th, and will then be released in theaters in September.
