Heated Rivalry Star Connor Storrie Reveals The MCU Role He Wants

Heated Rivalry star Connor Storrie revealed which MCU villain he would love to play

Actor Jamie Storrie, known for his role as Ilya Rozanov in the popular sports romance drama, recently told Variety he’d love to play Gorr the God Butcher – the villain from the Thor movies (played by Christian Bale). He admitted his main reason for wanting the part is to experience what it’s like to be bald. Storrie also expressed a desire to play a truly unusual character, and he thinks Marvel’s Killer of Gods definitely fits the bill.

The actor also mentioned he found the villain in Thor: Love and Thunder visually interesting. Gorr is bald, gray-skinned, and has notably unpleasant teeth.

I’m aiming for a completely original supervillain persona. I’ve already been associated with the Joker – I played a patient who killed Arthur Fleck in the new movie. For this new role, I want a striking look – specifically, I’d like to be bald. Think of Christian Bale’s character Gorr from ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ – the gray skin, black teeth, and shaved head. I’m hoping for something equally unusual and memorable.

Storrie isn’t alone among the cast of Heated Rivalry in wanting to play a character from a comic book. Unlike some others, he preferred a DC superhero role over playing a Marvel villain. His co-star, Shane Hollander, who plays Hudson Williams, has said he’d be interested in playing Nightwing.

Gorr the God Butcher first appeared in Marvel’s Thor: God of Thunder #2 in January 2013. Created by writer Jason Aaron and artist Esad Ribic, Gorr – also known as the Killer of Gods – developed a deep hatred for deities because of his difficult upbringing. He was raised on a planet plagued by famine, drought, and constant earthquakes, and the gods never intervened to help his people.

Beyond movies and comics, this supervillain is featured in a number of video games. Players can control him in both Marvel Strike Force and Marvel: Future Flight.

Heated Rivalry is a Canadian sports drama inspired by Rachel Reid’s Game Changer novels. The show centers on Shane and Ilya, two hockey players who compete as rivals on different teams. Despite their on-ice competition, they’re secretly in a romantic relationship that they keep hidden from their teammates and the public.

I’m really excited about the cast! Storrie and Williams are leading the show, and they’re joined by some fantastic actors I already know and love – François Arnaud as Scott Hunter, Robbie G.K. playing Kip Grady, Callan Potter as Hayden Pike, and Christina Chang as Yuna Hollander. It’s shaping up to be a great ensemble!

As a big movie and TV fan, I’m excited to share that you can now stream “Heated Rivalry” on HBO Max! New episodes drop every Friday at midnight Eastern Time, so set your alarms!
