Heated Rivalry finally lands UK streaming home – and the release date is very soon

The popular Canadian hockey romance series, Heated Rivalry, is finally becoming available in the UK very soon! The six-episode show has quickly become a hit since its release last month, but UK fans have had to wait until now to watch.

The wait won’t be much longer! The show is officially coming to us on January 10, 2026.

I was so excited when everyone said we’d be getting it in March, especially with HBO Max launching! But it turns out HBO Max isn’t actually the one bringing it to the UK, which is a bit of a surprise.

Sky and NOW announced on social media today that a new series, #HeatedRivalry, will be available on their platforms starting January 10th, promising a dramatic addition to viewers’ winter entertainment.

We don’t know the exact date yet, but fans in the UK will be able to watch the developing love story between hockey players Shane Hollander (played by Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (played by Connor Storrie) in less than four weeks.

The news was very well received, with many people expressing their excitement. One user even commented, “You guys move FAST!!!! I’m so happy right now, we have been begging for this.”

One fan shared that the show “made my Christmas so much better,” and another announced they were canceling other streaming subscriptions to sign up for Sky TV just to watch it.

I’ve been hearing a lot about Heated Rivalry lately! It’s based on Rachel Reid’s Game Changers books, and apparently it’s huge in Canada. I read on Deadline that it’s actually Crave’s biggest original series ever, which is pretty awesome!

It’s no surprise that the show has been picked up for a second season! The show’s official social media accounts announced the news with an enthusiastic post: “We’re thrilled to confirm #HeatedRivalry will return for SEASON 2!”

Okay, so it’s not just me loving this game – even the critics are really into it! Right now, it’s sitting at a 95% score on Rotten Tomatoes, which is pretty amazing.

Critics agree that Jacob Tierney beautifully brings Rachel Reid’s hockey-themed romance novels to life. The adaptation, called Heated Rivalry, is a passionate, immersive, and genuinely heartfelt story with strong LGBTQ+ representation, making it a real success.

Heated Rivalry lands on Sky and NOW on 10 January 2026, with more details to follow.

Enjoy the holidays with the Good Housekeeping Christmas TV Guide! It’s packed with 14 days of listings to help you plan your festive viewing, and it’s available now for just £4.75 at Morrisons, TG Jones, and other magazine retailers.
