Heartstopper’s Olivia Colman announced for new TV role
As a long-time fan of Olivia Colman‘s captivating performances and her remarkable talent to bring characters to life, this latest news about her reading a CBeebies Bedtime Story has me absolutely thrilled! It seems that even the most celebrated actors among us can still find joy in sharing stories with our little ones.
Heartstopper star Olivia Colman has been confirmed for a new TV role.
The Oscar-winning actor has signed-on to read a CBeebies Bedtime Story, with the star set to share Julia Donaldson’s The Gruffalo’s Child on Friday, November 8.
2004’s book is set during a stormy, blustery evening, when the courageous Gruffalo’s child disobeys her father’s advice and timidly ventures out into the snow, determined to find the infamous Big Scary Mouse.
During her grand journey, she encounters Snake, Owl, and Fox, yet there seems to be no trace of the legendary Mouse. Is it just a myth that he exists, or could he be real? This is the gist of the storyline.
Over the years, CBeebies Bedtime Stories have been a cherished part of my family’s routine. Reading one myself filled me with great excitement. I genuinely hope you find as much joy in it as I did. – Colman
Currently, the star is featured in the third installment of “Paddington,” titled “Paddington in Peru.” In this film, she assumes the character of The Reverend Mother.
Simultaneously, earlier this year, Colman spoke out about the wage gap in Hollywood, stating to CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, “The pay difference issue – but men are paid more because they once claimed they attract more audience.
In truth, that statement has been inaccurate for many years. However, it is often employed as an excuse to pay women less than men. If I were Olivia Colman, I would undoubtedly be earning significantly more than I currently do… Yes, I am fully conscious of this issue.
“I know of one pay disparity, which is a 12,000 per cent difference. Do the maths.”
Olivia Colman is set to tell a bedtime story for CBeebies at 6:50 PM on Friday, the 8th of November. You can catch it both on CBeebies TV and the BBC iPlayer platform.
