Heartstopper’s Kit Connor felt “major imposter syndrome” on The Wild Robot

As someone who’s been a die-hard animation fan since my childhood days spent glued to the TV screen with a bowl of cereal (and sometimes still am!), let me tell you that The Wild Robot has truly swept me off my feet. With its captivating storyline, breathtaking visuals, and an ensemble cast that’s as star-studded as a Hollywood walk of fame, it’s no wonder this movie is making waves in the world of animation.

The Wild Robot” stands among the top films of the year, and to celebrate its digital launch in the UK, we have a unique, backstage video clip exclusively for you.

If you’d rather watch a critically praised animation on the large screen, it’s still playing in cinemas. However, if you’d prefer to watch The Wild Robot at home, you can now purchase or rent it from platforms like Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, Microsoft Store, and various other digital retailers.

In the film, Kit Connor, famously known for his role in Heartstopper, lends his voice to Brightbill. This is a character who was raised as an orphaned goose by Roz, a robot providing services and affectionately adopting him, portrayed by Lupita Nyong’o.

In the special video segment (available for viewing at the top), Connor commended the talented ensemble of the film, featuring Bill Nighy portraying the sagely old goose named Longneck and Mark Hamill as the grumpy bear character, Thorn.

Connor pointed out that Brightbill seems to nurture compassion and affection in Roz, suggesting a strong bond akin to a mother and son. He further explained that this relationship is instrumental in helping Roz discover a sense of family on the island, with Brightbill soon playing a crucial role in her life.

“I’m really getting major, major imposter syndrome because the cast is so, so good.”

Nighy commented: “It’s consistently awe-inspiring when you start with an animation project, lend your voice, and later return to find that they’ve brought the characters to life through animation.

The backdrop has an impressionistic feel, yet the figures within it are exceptionally distinct. This unique pairing is quite striking.
