Heartstopper’s Alice Oseman shares health update after surgery

As a die-hard fan of Heartstopper and Alice Oseman’s brilliant work, I’ve been on an emotional rollercoaster these past few days! The news about Alice undergoing surgery had me biting my nails, but thankfully, it seems everything went swimmingly well. Just like how Nick and Charlie’s love story unfolded across seasons, Alice has managed to navigate her real-life obstacles with grace and resilience.

Alice Oseman, the author of Heartstopper, has given a health update following her surgery, assuring us all that everything went smoothly.

The author both developed the popular teen romance series on Netflix and originated the comic books that serve as its foundation.

This week, Oseman posted a photo on her Instagram Stories from her couch, watching television, indicating that she’s recovering well following her surgery.

She posted, “My operation was successful, and now I’m back home, relaxing on the couch!” However, I’m currently in quite a bit of discomfort, but I’m happy it’s over and I’m ready for some forced relaxation.

The latest season of “Heartstopper” has just been released, further unfolding the love story between Nick Nelson and Charlie Spring.

The episodes received outstanding recognition, achieving a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Notably, they were lauded for their authentic depiction of teenage struggles, as well as the exceptional chemistry between actors Kit Connor and Joe Locke.

As a gamer, I can’t help but feel the thrill when I hear about the incredible success of the latest volume in my favorite graphic novel series. Released last December, this fifth installment set records by selling an astounding 60,012 copies in its first three days – breaking all previous sales records in the UK for graphic novels! It’s moments like these that make being a fan so exhilarating!

In response to setting a new record, Oseman expressed his astonishment at the moment: “I’m absolutely floored by the news. Heartstopper is a tale that means a great deal to me, and I never would have thought it could break records.

Heartstopper is a tale that revolves around joy, love, and queerness, and witnessing its acceptance by such a wide range of readers – from young to old – fills me with genuine optimism. I am deeply appreciative of every fan who has backed me and the Heartstopper journey; it all feels incredibly meaningful.
