Heartstopper star’s new movie confirms UK release date
As a seasoned gamer and horror movie enthusiast, I’ve seen my fair share of terrifying tales and spine-chilling scenarios. However, the upcoming release of “Get Away” has managed to pique my interest in a way few films have before. The combination of Nick Frost, known for his brilliant work in “Shaun of the Dead,” and the intriguing plot of a family trapped on a remote Swedish island during a serial killer’s rampage, is simply irresistible.
Heartstopper star Sebastian Croft’s new movie Get Away has confirmed its UK release date.
In the movie directed by Steffen Haars, the focus is on a family’s journey through a secluded Swedish island, where chaos ensues following the escape of a notorious serial killer.
The film titled “Get Away” was penned and directed by Nick Frost, a renowned actor from “Shaun of the Dead“, with him appearing in the cast alongside Aisling Bea and Maisie Ayres.
On January 10, 2025, you’ll find the premiere of our spooky-funny flick on Sky Cinema, offering a chilling yet delightful start to your new year!
The Smith family eagerly anticipates their getaway to the tiny Swedish island of Svälta, but they grow apprehensive when mainlanders caution them against visiting the island altogether, particularly during the Karantan celebration. This is the plot summary for the movie.
However, despite their pressing need for a break, this small family of four persists in boarding the ferry regardless.
On the island, the locals appear unfazed about assisting the Smiths, instead allowing the group to manage on their own. Over time, the inhabitants’ peculiar actions hint at an impending significant event.
“Is is a cult? Is there a sacrifice in the works?” the logline continues.
Ignoring all the unnecessary noise and commotion, I, as part of the Smith family, find solace in the vastness of the ocean during our swim, the tranquility of the woods on our treks, and even embrace the peaceful quietude that seems to shroud us – a situation we’ve come to appreciate, for it provides us with an ideal canvas to pursue our secret endeavors.
The movie “Get Away” made its debut at the Fantastic Fest recently, on September 20th, and many enthusiasts have been expressing their opinions about it on social media platforms.
A number of spectators commended Frost for his amusing and captivating acting skills, along with a surprising turn of events towards the movie’s conclusion that left them impressed.
Julia Stuart, the head of original films at Sky, commented that “Get Away” is the first movie where Nick has both written and acted, and her enthusiasm for the project is evident in every aspect, making it truly extraordinary.
In this film, you’ll find the classic elements that Nick’s dark comedic horror fans adore: lots of humor that will make you laugh out loud, unexpected plot twists, and over-the-top gore. Plus, it boasts a top-notch cast from Britain. We believe audiences are going to have a blast joining this murderous family on their holiday getaway.
Frost remarked, “Having the opportunity to take our movie to Sky’s Originals lineup seems almost unreal. It feels like an ideal spot for cozying up and savoring a massive dose of comedy-horror. Dive right in!
Get Away will premiere on Sky Cinema on January 10, 2025.
