- Unlock relaxing hobbies like cooking, gardening, and more as you settle into your new home.
Heartopia is a game designed for relaxation and enjoyment. It’s about taking things slow and appreciating small, cozy moments, rather than rushing through challenges. The game focuses on letting you be creative and express yourself, and a key part of that is its hobby system.
In Heartopia, your hobbies are a big part of daily life. They affect what you do each day, how you make money, and how much you get involved in the world around you. Whether you enjoy relaxing by fishing or taking care of cute pets, hobbies are definitely one of the most enjoyable things to do.
So, I’ve put together a guide to help you unlock all the hobbies in Heartopia! If you’re just starting out, definitely check out my beginner’s guide first – it’ll make things way easier. And don’t forget to grab those redeem codes I found, they’ll get you some free stuff in the game!
What are Hobbies in Heartopia
In Heartopia, hobbies aren’t just fun side activities—they’re the main way you play the game! Instead of fighting monsters or exploring dungeons, you’ll spend your time doing things people enjoy in real life. Each hobby has its own unique way of working, letting you improve your skills, earn rewards, and learn from experienced mentors.
The more you engage in a hobby, the better you become at it. This improvement unlocks access to better rewards and new ways to interact with the game. However, you won’t be able to try every hobby right away. Heartopia uses a special item called a Hobby Expansion Ticket to allow you to progress and unlock new hobbies.

To start a new hobby, you’ll need to use a special ticket. Since these tickets are limited and not easily found, deciding which hobby to unlock first is a key part of the game’s beginning.
Currently, Heartopia features seven hobbies:
- Fishing
- Gardening
- Cooking
- Insect Catching
- Birdwatching
- Cat Care
- Dog Care
You’ll unlock some features automatically as you learn the basics, but others need you to reach a certain level, use in-game tickets, or meet specific requirements. Getting familiar with how this works early on will save you time and prevent frustration down the road.
How to Unlock all Hobbies in Heartopia
Learning new hobbies in Heartopia is straightforward. The game starts with a helpful tutorial that guides you through the first few and makes sure you grasp the core mechanics. Once you get the hang of things, you’re free to pick the hobbies you enjoy, but you’ll need to manage your Hobby Expansion Tickets carefully to unlock them.

Every hobby unlock follows three core rules:
- You must meet the Developer Level requirement, if one exists.
- You must speak to the appropriate Hobby Mentor.
- You must spend a Hobby Expansion Ticket.
Below is a clear breakdown of how to unlock all Hobbies in Heartopia:
| Hobbies | How to unlock Hobby |
|---|---|
| Fishing Hobby | Fishing is unlocked early during the tutorial when Vanya visits your house, gives you a fishing rod, and provides a Hobby Expansion Ticket that must be used immediately. |
| Gardening Hobby | Gardening is also unlocked during the tutorial when Blanc visits your home, gives you gardening tools, seeds, and a Hobby Expansion Ticket required to proceed. |
| Cooking Hobby | Cooking is available at Developer Level 6. Then you can speak to Massimo outside his café and spend a Hobby Expansion Ticket to unlock it. |
| Insect Catching Hobby | Insect Catching is also available at Developer Level 6. Speak to Naniwa near the river and spend a Hobby Expansion Ticket to unlock it. |
| Birdwatching Hobby | Another hobby available at Developer Level 6. Speak to Bailey J upstairs in the pet store and spend a Hobby Expansion Ticket to unlock it. |
| Cat Care Hobby | You need to reach Developer Level 12 first, then get a Hobby Expansion Ticket, and purchase a kitten from Mrs. Joan at the pet store. |
| Dog Care Hobby | Requires Developer Level 12, Cat Care unlocked first, and an additional Hobby Expansion Ticket. Then players can purchase Puppies from Mrs. Joan. |
