How to unlock Birdwatching in Heartopia
Birdwatching becomes available after playing for a few hours. It’s introduced in Heartopia as part of the Developer Level 6 hobby quest.
After you reach Developer Level 6, you can meet Bailey J in the pet store upstairs. Bailey will explain everything about Birdwatching and why it’s a fun hobby. She’ll ask you to come back after you’ve talked to all the other Hobby Mentors.

Now, the game lets you pick which hobby to learn next. You can choose Birdwatching as your third and last tutorial hobby. After talking to all three instructors, go back to Bailey J with a Hobby Expansion Ticket.
Giving the ticket away permanently gives you access to Birdwatching. If you pick a different hobby, you’ll need to get another Hobby Expansion Ticket before you can unlock Birdwatching.
How to Birdwatch in Heartopia
Birdwatching in Heartopia is easy to pick up and enjoy. It’s about being mindful and patient, not rushing or feeling pressured. It encourages players to relax and take in the world around them.

Below is how to begin Birdwatching in Heartopia:
- First, equip your camera from your toolbox.
- After that, approach any bird and open your camera.
- Make sure to keep your distance, or the bird may fly away.
- Next, take a picture of the bird.
That’s all there is to it! When a photo is successfully identified, the bird will be added to your collection. Keep in mind that where and when you look matters – some birds are common, while others only appear in certain places or at specific times. Knowing where to search is key to finding them.
