A newborn who has this specific health issue might repeatedly produce a croaky or husky cry due to persistent blistering and scarring on their vocal cords, as suggested by the Mayo Clinic.
In remembering her daughter Ellie, who sadly passed away earlier this month, Hannah posted with a heavy heart, ‘Ellie is eternally cherished. She slipped gently into peace last night, enveloped in love.’
Overwhelmed by sorrow, she admitted, “I’m at a loss as to how to spend this day. My heart is heavy, and I feel enraged.
It’s heartbreaking that the child had to experience such hardship. EB took her away from us prematurely. Let’s unite in our struggle for a treatment, so no other family has to suffer as we have. Thank you for sharing your love for her with us.
A few days prior to her death, Hannah disclosed that Elliana’s health was deteriorating swiftly and that she had been closed-eyed for a full day.
Accompanying the video, it was stated: “Ellie is still among us, yet her body seems weary. She has not opened her eyes, taken any food, and can barely make a sound.
‘We’re holding her close and loving her through every breath.’
Elliana’s dermatologist, Dr. Diana Reusch, attended the baby girl’s memorial alongside her family.
Hannah shared her involvement via TikTok, noting that Dr. Reusch, had taken a bus to be there.
Dr. Reusch clarified in the recording that while Hannah and Jacob understood Ellie had EB, they hadn’t received clear details about which specific subtype she had. He further explained that Ellie was not only susceptible to severe skin wounds but also faced potential respiratory problems and nutritional complications.
