Previously known Coronation Street actress, aged 48, who has recently separated from her younger partner, Samuel Thomas (aged 29), shared a cheerful selfie on Instagram with David Cunliffe, the father of her older children, David (aged 29) and Emilie (aged 27).

Regardless of their previous separation, they’ve managed to maintain a strong bond. Kym even refers to him as one of her closest friends globally.

In the year 1994, Kym initially crossed paths with the builder named David at a karaoke pub. After this encounter, they welcomed two beautiful children into their family; however, their bond eventually came to an end.

Yet, what started as a parental partnership has evolved into a close friendship, with Kym frequently posting about their shared experiences on social platforms.

Previously, they were captured having fun during the Euro final. In 2023, she shared several photos of him multiple times, featuring their adult children and grandchildren. The accompanying captions expressed that family holds the utmost importance to her.

After completing five series at Waterloo Road, Kym decided to move on to pursue new opportunities instead.

She broke up with the performer prior to Christmas, following their completion of the tour for the musical adaptation of 101 Dalmatians.

In an interview with Closer magazine, the actress pledged a firm promise to prioritize herself, stating that she intends to make herself a top priority before her 50th birthday.

Kym may not have discussed her personal dating experiences, but she did offer guidance to those facing difficulties – an insight that appears to stem from her own reported struggles with heartache.

She shared: ‘Life is always a struggle – It’s not like all of a sudden, it’s a fairy tale.

‘Struggles are a common part of life for many individuals. I believe there are others out there who are facing difficulties, whether it’s overcoming obstacles or pursuing a goal. My suggestion to them is to persevere. I’ve found that in due time, efforts usually bear fruit, so keep pushing forward.’

As I approach my 49th birthday in June next year, marking a significant milestone – my 50th – I’ve decided it’s time for a shift. From now on, I’m focusing on putting myself first, a change from the habit of always prioritizing others.

It seems like the wise choice, especially as I approach the milestone of turning 50. This transformation involves making healthier food choices, rekindling my gym routine, ensuring ample rest, and dedicating more quality time at home.

Currently, the television figure is deeply involved in her career while managing a ‘complexly combined’ family. Kym, specifically, has two kids, three grandkids, and one step-grandchild.

According to reports to The Sun, following their tour, it seems that Kym, being 19 years senior to Samuel, found it increasingly challenging to spend time with him after their supposed split.

According to a source, Kym and Sam instantly felt deeply smitten upon their first encounter and eagerly shared their excitement with everyone.

However, after Kym’s involvement in 101 Dalmatians concluded, finding time to be together became more challenging, which seemed to diminish some of the initial enchantment they shared.

‘It’s such a shame, especially before Christmas but Kym surrounded herself with family.’

Earlier, it was evident that Kym seemed enamored with Samuel while they took a set of photos together. Later, he posted these images on his Instagram.

Samuel shared in the title of his post that they enjoyed two fantastic days in London, exploring attractions and acting like typical tourists.

He concluded by expressing, “I love you,” along with a captivating photo of Kym during their delightful romantic excursion.

He wrote: ‘Life is fantastic at the moment. I spent two marvelous days in London, residing at @strandpalace hotel, sandwiched between venues last week, and it was simply delightful.’

Kym found herself needing to explain why she announced publicly that she’s dating Samuel, a man whose age is similar to her son’s, after expressing on social media that he is her ‘true love.’

TopMob contacted a representative for Kym for comment at the time.

In her words, at the age of 29, Samuel, whom she affectionately calls “the most remarkable man,” shares the same age with her oldest child, David Cunliffe.

It seems that Kym’s friends are concerned that her fresh relationship with a younger guy might dissolve, leading to potential sorrow for her, should it not work out.

Her well-known friend circle seems delighted that she’s found a partner, but there are whispers among them about potential heartache she might face in the future.
