The upcoming series guarantees an exploration of the ominous mysteries hidden beneath its facade.
This nine-part TV series functions as a precursor to the 2017 and 2019 horror films titled “It” and “It Chapter Two,” respectively. It’s an adaptation of Stephen King’s acclaimed 1986 horror novel, also named “It.” The production comes from Warner Bros. Television, with Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs playing key roles in its development. Among them, Andy directed four episodes for the series. Furthermore, Jason penned the script for the premiere episode and collaborates as co-showrunner with Brad Caleb Kane.
The following individuals have joined as executive producers for the upcoming horror series: The Muschiettis, Fuchs, Kane, David Coatsworth, Bill Skarsgård, Shelley Meals, Roy Lee, and Dan Lin. As of now, a specific release date has not been announced, but it’s confirmed that the series will debut in 2025. The series will be broadcast on HBO and also available for streaming on Max.
The specifics of the plot remain undisclosed, yet the story is set in the 1960s and will depict Pennywise causing havoc among the residents of Derry. The principal cast includes Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, Rudy Mancuso, and Bill Skarsgård. Indeed, Skarsgård reprises his chilling role as Pennywise the Dancing Clown from both ‘It’ and ‘It Chapter Two’ in this series.
