The Dinosaurs is the newest attempt at a nature-style dinosaur documentary – Apple TV tried something similar in 2022 with Prehistoric, but the format was really perfected back in 1999 with Walking with Dinosaurs.

Dinosaur shows aren’t always easy to find, and creating them can be expensive due to the animation costs. While all of them offer something enjoyable, HBO Max’s Primal really stands out as exceptional.

Primal Is The Greatest Dinosaur TV Show Ever

Primal is widely considered one of the best dinosaur TV shows ever made. Created by renowned animator Genndy Tartakovsky, this three-season series is visually stunning and features incredible animation, relying almost entirely on action and sound effects rather than dialogue. The show centers around Spear, a Neanderthal, and his dangerous journeys with a Tyrannosaurus rex named Fang.

Spear, who lost his family to a dinosaur, teams up with Fang, and together they navigate a wildly imaginative prehistoric world. This world isn’t your typical ancient past – it’s filled with dinosaurs living alongside Vikings, lost empires like Atlantis, and terrifying creatures from legends.
