The show, a dark comedy, recently returned for its final season and has quickly become very popular with viewers.

Hacks Has an Impressive Rotten Tomatoes Score

From the beginning, Hacks has been a hit with critics. It boasts a remarkable 99% score on Rotten Tomatoes, based on reviews, and is finishing its highly praised run on a high note, remaining as funny and clever as ever.

In a review for The Travers Take, Peter Travers praised the leads in Hacks, particularly Jean Smart. He noted that Smart powerfully portrays the underlying pain beneath the humor in what might be her most memorable role, and that her chemistry with Hannah Einbinder adds genuine warmth to their witty banter.

In a review for New York Magazine/Vulture, Roxana Hadadi praised Hacks, noting that the show portrays Deborah as a strong and admirable figure who champions free speech, female empowerment, and independence. Verne Gay of Newsday began their review by calling the final season “funny, melancholy, and flawless.”

Though fans are disappointed the show is ending, they’re glad Hacks is finishing strong. New episodes will be released every Thursday, culminating in the series finale on May 28, 2026. Early reviews suggest it’s an episode you won’t want to miss.
