In a recent interview with Collider, Vivienne Medrano shared updates on Hazbin Hotel seasons 3 and 4, letting fans know that work is continuing and explaining how the new seasons will likely be released.

According to Medrano, production is underway, but animation is a lengthy process. Fans can likely expect Season 3 to arrive around 2027, with Season 4 following sooner because both seasons were approved for development together. Given Season 1 ended on February 2, 2024, and Season 2 premiered on October 29, 2025, this timeline seems reasonable.

According to writer Medrano, deals with Hell in the series are only official when a handshake confirms the agreement. This explains why Lute’s command in Season 2 didn’t work – there was no handshake. Sera, a key figure, enforces this rule, essentially refusing to be controlled or given orders. Medrano stressed that the handshake is crucial; without it, any attempt to make a deal isn’t binding.

Regarding the Lilith storyline first hinted at in Season 1, Medrano explained that they initially teased it because they weren’t sure what the show’s future held. She confirmed that the phone call in the finale was genuinely Lilith. Now that Season 2 has finished and viewers know Lilith isn’t part of it, Medrano promised she will appear in Season 3.

Medrano shared that the third season will largely revolve around the idea of family. She confirmed a fan’s prediction, stating it’s a “safe bet” that family will be a central theme. This will include storylines focusing on the Morningstar family, Angel, the concept of chosen family, and aspects of Angel’s past.
