Warning: This article includes SPOILERS for Hazbin Hotel season 1, episode 2
The song “Gravity” from season 2 of Hazbin Hotel might significantly impact the show’s depiction of Heaven. Hazbin Hotel is known for its unique musical style, mixing different genres instead of sticking to one. This variety makes both season 1 and 2 soundtracks very enjoyable and keeps the music fresh.
Before the premiere of Hazbin Hotel season 2, two songs from the show were released: “Hazbin Guarantee (Trust Us)” and “Gravity.” The song “Gravity,” a high-energy punk track, was accompanied by a fun video featuring Lute smashing things and angrily confronting Adam, who seemed to be provoking him.
“Gravity” was an instant success on the radio, and its YouTube video gained over 4.1 million views even before the song’s official release. The song initially seemed to be about seeking revenge and violence against Hell for the death of Adam, who now appears as a ghost. But after seeing the episode it’s connected to, the song’s true meaning is now clearer and more complex.
Lute Wants Revenge On Hell For Killing Adam Despite Heaven’s Hesitance To Take Action

In “Gravity,” Lute is filled with intense anger and determined to punish those she believes have wronged her. She feels Adam’s death requires payback, believing she deserves revenge because of her love for him – an ‘eye for an eye.’
In season 2 of Hazbin Hotel, the scene with “Gravity” happens right after Lute is stripped of her leadership role and demoted. She’s now second-in-command to Abel, Patrick Stump’s character, who is well-meaning but lacks any fighting or strategic skills. This means Lute is being led by someone with no experience in combat or planning.
Considering this, the song’s words suggest Lute wants to punish both those who have sinned and the angels who doubted her authority. Because avenging the sinners would disobey Sera’s commands, Lute would have to act against orders, hinting at a potential conflict for control in heaven.
Lute Could Try To Get Other Angels On Her Side In Hazbin Hotel Season 2

Despite her harsh personality, Lute is a skilled military leader. She’s teamed up with Lilith to journey to Hell and prevent a possible rebellion against Heaven. Even though she received orders to hold back, Lute doesn’t appear to be someone who avoids a challenge.
Lute might start gathering angels to support her, which would directly oppose Vox’s goals. While Vox focuses on attracting sinners, Lute could try to sway angels who are questioning Sera’s leadership. Concerns about Sera’s judgment were already voiced by several characters during the questioning of Sir Pentious in episode 2 of Hazbin Hotel.
