Hayley Atwell’s Shocking Secret While Pregnant in Mission Impossible 8 Fight
Acting isn’t a walk in the park; they perform stunts, underwater scenes, and fight sequences – quite a bit of action. Similarly, Hayley Atwell immerses herself fully in her roles too.
Indeed, she not only worked on “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” but did so while very pregnant. This surprising fact was shared during her visit to Jimmy Fallon’s show. Before presenting a thrilling fight scene, Atwell disclosed, “I’ve never mentioned it before, but this is an exclusive for Fallon. During this fight sequence, we returned to film it several times to add some additional elements. In the clip you’re about to see, I was actually eight and a half months pregnant.
Fallon appeared genuinely shocked when he found out that was the case. Atwell continued, “Believe me, I meant every word. Yes, indeed. And let me tell you, I was treated exceptionally well. Everyone was incredibly supportive, offering things like, ‘Feel free to rest, and we’ll find a stunt double.’ But I refused, saying, ‘No! After all the effort I’ve put in, I want to do it myself.’ So that’s exactly what I did, and here’s the result.
During an interview, Atwell mentioned that she didn’t need a stunt double for underwater scenes because “I find being underwater involves maintaining a state of deep relaxation and tranquility.” She continued, “If you start to panic or think ‘Oh no, I’m underwater. I can’t breathe,’ it becomes risky. You must cultivate a sense of calm and hold onto it.” She added that she enjoyed this experience and found it meditative, stating, “It was another opportunity for me to learn a new skill for this film that I can carry forward.
Atwell Shared Another Story With Fallon
During an appearance on The Tonight Show, Atwell shared another amusing anecdote from her past. It seemed that when she was starting out, she asked this person over for a movie night and to meet her dogs… however, they were unfortunately quite gassy pets.
We were watching a movie, and they kept passing wind on him throughout the film, she shared. I was taken aback, and it seemed others around us were also finding it quite unpleasant.
In a rather cringe-worthy moment, Atwell found herself in an embarrassing predicament. She shared, “I was watching the movie, he was munching on popcorn, and at one point I felt so mortified that I thought to myself, ‘I have to say something.’ There was a pause in the film, and I turned to him and said, ‘Excuse my gas emissions.’ He replied casually, ‘Oh yes,’ and continued watching the movie. I exclaimed, ‘This is more awkward than the farting!’
