Hayden Panettiere’s Emotional Tribute to Late Brother Jansen: ‘The Pain Isn’t Quantifiable’

Actress Hayden Panettiere paid a heartfelt homage to her deceased brother, Jansen Panettiere, on the second anniversary of his sudden death at 28 years old.

35-year-old Heroes alum expressed, “This extraordinary individual left a profound impact on countless lives, and I’m no exception.” She shared this sentiment with her 828K Instagram followers on Wednesday.

‘The discomfort can’t be measured. I hope you’re in a serene location, J. May you find tranquility there, and when everything is concluded… we’ll meet again. Take care, rest well. You are deeply missed and cherished more than words can express.’

The coroner stated that the graffiti artist died due to an enlarged heart and issues with his aortic valve, and he was laid to rest at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, New York.

Hayden expressed his sorrow to People on September 18, saying, “I was the only brother he had, and it was my responsibility to look after him. When he passed away, it felt like a part of me, as big as half my soul, was taken away.

“The pain of this event is something I’ll carry forever. I don’t see a way for me to move past it. Regardless of the passing time, I doubt if I’ll ever recover from losing him.

Panettiere stated: ‘After an event as significant as what I experienced, I find myself more selective about arguments and less bothered by minor issues. This is because once something overwhelming, profound, and devastating takes place in one’s life, it leaves little room for other things to cause major disturbances.’

In the movies, those brothers played together in a total of three films: Tiger Cruise from 2004, Racing Stripes in 2005, and The Forger which was released in 2012.

Jansen recently played Fizz in the 1999-themed teen musical “Bart Bagalzby and the Garbage Genie”, directed by Christopher Broe and Basil Mironer, which was filmed in 2021 but didn’t start streaming VOD until January 10.

This talented individual with curls appeared as a guest star on various episodes from shows like Disney Channel’s Even Stevens, The CW’s Everybody Hates Chris, and AMC’s The Walking Dead.

hayden, who has undergone two recovery programs due to her struggle with opioid and alcohol dependency, once again garnered attention in September due to noticeable speech impairments during conversations with People and TODAY.

Panettiere attributed her noticeable fatigue to going without sleep for two consecutive days due to her pet requiring urgent surgery. She explained this on Instagram by saying, “My representative ended the interview prematurely because it was clear I was growing weaker, particularly as the conversation delved into more serious topics.

In early 2026, a two-time Golden Globe nominee will share her tale of overcoming addiction and trauma in her book titled “Break Free: Addiction, Trauma, and How the Cheerleader Found Liberation.” This inspiring memoir will be published by Grand Central Publishing.

According to a report on February 2nd by Deadline, actress Hayden has recently completed filming her part as the mourning mother Sarah in Brandon Auman’s psychological thriller, Sleepwalker, which is set in Rhode Island.

In August last year, Panettiere received the role for the Furst Brothers’ upcoming movie titled “A Breed Apart”, a modern take on the 2006 film by Wes Craven, “The Breed”.

In a personal matter, the producer-actress of Amber Alert has relinquished custody of her 10-year-old daughter Kaya Evdokia Klitschko, who is now being looked after full-time by her former fiancé Wladimir Klitschko.

In 2018, Hayden and a 48-year-old former heavyweight boxer, who had been in an up-and-down relationship for nine years, parted ways cordially.
