Hayden Christensen’s Shocking Answer About Force Ghost Obi-Wan & Anakin
Over the past weekend, countless Star Wars enthusiasts flocked to cinemas to re-experience the origin of Darth Vader through the 20th anniversary rerelease of Revenge of The Sith. (The film’s enduring popularity placed it at No. 2 in its second week, just behind Sinners’ impressive performance!) Recently, TopMob even managed to chat with Hayden Christensen, the actor who portrayed Anakin Skywalker, and his response was intriguing when we asked about the conclusion of Darth Vader’s infamous character evolution within Star Wars.
In the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy, viewers witness a transformation in Anakin and Obi-Wan’s relationship from allies and close companions to bitter adversaries. The entire saga culminates with Obi-Wan training Luke, Anakin’s son, in the Force, eventually confronting and defeating Anakin (now Darth Vader) to save the galaxy. In the final installment, Return of the Jedi, the spirits of Anakin (played by Hayden Christensen) and Obi-Wan (Alec Guinness), smile upon Luke from the afterlife, joined by Yoda. Here’s an interview with Hayden Christensen at Star Wars Celebration.

It seems like he found the concept amusing, right? Hayden Christensen let out a chuckle when we posed our question about what he believes their force ghost characters, Anakin and Obi-Wan, would discuss first. Instead of diving deep into a debate or conflict, he shared a heartwarming sentiment that they’d “just reconcile and embrace.” It’s a sweet response that reflects his desire for the two characters to find common ground, and it’s delightful to witness such optimism.
Currently, the actor found himself short on time since he was answering some queries prior to joining the Ahsoka panel with Rosario Dawson. This brief moment leaves one wondering about their shared history and how they might perceive each other following events that left both feeling deceived by the other. Despite this, Christensen maintains a positive perspective on their relationship.

In the heartbreaking backstory of the villain Anakin in Revenge of the Sith, he confronts his master and ally, Obi-Wan Kenobi, after succumbing to the seductive power of the Dark Side. During a significant battle, Obi-Wan amputates one of Anakin’s arms and both legs, and then departs him to meet an agonizing death, considering him too perilous. In the end, Anakin transforms into Darth Vader, while Obi-Wan collaborates with Yoda to ensure that Anakin and Padme’s twins remain unharmed.
Over the weekend, countless people watched as Darth Vader was born anew on the big screen. In one theater, spectators were pleasantly surprised by appearances from Hayden Christensen and Samuel L. Jackson. The re-release generated $25 million in its opening weekend back in cinemas. In recent years, Christensen has expressed a sense of satisfaction about his work on the Prequel Trilogy. Excitingly, he will be reprising his role for Season 2 of “Ahsoka” – a fantastic time for both him and Star Wars enthusiasts!
