Hayden Christensen drops out of Comic Con Manchester for Ahsoka season 2 ‘night-time shoots’

It’s possible that Hayden Christensen, who is known as The Chosen One, could be filming for the second season of Ahsoka in the near future. Unfortunately, he had to cancel his appearance at Comic Con Manchester, which was scheduled for July 26.

As stated on a tweet from Comic Con Manchester, Christensen had to withdraw because he was required for night-time movie shoots during our convention’s weekend.

To clarify more about the cancellation, they mentioned, “He has a reputation for being reliable in this field, so it’s unlikely that he would cancel unless absolutely necessary.

It’s disappointing for fans who were looking forward to meeting him, but thrilling for those anticipating more of Anakin Skywalker. Currently, Ahsoka season 2 is being filmed in the UK, suggesting that Christensen adjusted his schedule due to filming commitments. At present, he only has Ahsoka listed among his future roles, hinting that he might soon reprise his character as Anakin Skywalker again.

Anticipation builds for Hayden’s reappearance as Anakin in the next season, and his acting in season 1 was a standout moment. In episode 5, “Shadow Warrior”, Ahsoka met up with her old mentor who had one last lesson to impart. As the new season approaches, Ahsoka might require her Master’s wisdom, as she and Sabine Wren search for a means to get back to their original galaxy. The series concluded with Ahsoka and Sabine stranded on Peridea, and the last image was that of Anakin Skywalker’s force spirit.

In that specific shot, they filmed under the cover of night, implying Hayden may need to replicate a comparable scene. However, it’s also plausible that this could be a distinct scene altogether. As for Anakin in season 2, his role remains enigmatic, but he might significantly impact the plot in various manners. The first season subtly suggested that Ahsoka had reconciled with Anakin’s downfall and was prepared to discuss him with Sabine. She cherished memories of him and often revisited training videos he made for her during the Clone Wars.

After making peace with each other, Anakin can safeguard Ahsoka from adversaries like Baylan Skol or other malevolent forces on Peridea from a distance. He might reappear in additional Clone Wars flashbacks, or even engage in dialogue with Ahsoka in the current timeline through force communication. If Anakin successfully completes her training and assists Ahsoka in escaping Peridea before Thrawn and his associates irrevocably destroy the galaxy, he can truly be recognized as a Jedi Master.

Ahsoka season 2 premieres next year on Disney+.
