As a die-hard fan of Tamzin Outhwaite, I can’t help but feel a mix of admiration and concern for her life journey. From her unforgettable portrayal of Mel Healy in EastEnders to her diverse roles in Red Cap and New Tricks, she has undeniably left an indelible mark on British television.
Tamzin Outhwaite has fuelled rumours she’s split from her toyboy boyfriend Tom Child.
The actress, aged 53, discussed her thoughts on ‘not requiring a relationship with another person’ following several months without mentioning the actor, 33, on her social platforms.
For the past six years, she’s been in a relationship with Tom, who is about twenty years younger than her. They first crossed paths at a yoga session way back in 2017.
In November 2023, Tom and Tamzin appeared to be deeply affectionate towards each other on their respective Instagram posts, however, neither of them has been discussed since then.
Actress Tamzin Outhwaite, known for her role on EastEnders, has expressed a deep connection with her latest character Sylvie from the humorous Channel 5 series The Wives.
She said: ‘I love the freedom that Sylvie has, and that’s something that comes with age.
‘Knowing yourself, being a free spirit and not needing the commitment of another human being.’
Tom has now decided to live together with Tamzin and her two girls, since he is referred to as an exceptional stepfather by Tamzin herself.
Tamzin has two daughters, Florence (age 15) and Marnie (age 11), whom she shares with her former spouse Tom Ellis. They were married from 2006 up until the year 2014.
The marriage was believed to have concluded in 2013 when the actor known for his role as Lucifer admitted to having an affair with co-star Emilie de Ravin during their work together on “Once Upon a Time” in 2013.
Last July, Tamzin asserted that the actor abruptly left her and their children, and she continues to discover additional instances of his infidelity and deceit, which she initially posted on a hastily removed tweet.

‘But thankfully my heart and soul are clear and clean and I could not be happier right now.’
In 1998, Tamzin rose to prominence by portraying beloved character Mel Healy on the show EastEnders. She continued in this role until 2002 when she left the series.
Subsequently, she went back to the BBC soap opera in January 2018, and eventually met her on-screen end in a thrilling high-speed car pursuit involving Sharon Watts in November 2019.
Tamzin’s other big roles included Sgt. Jo McDonagh in Red Cap and DCI Sasha Miller in New Tricks.
