Harry Styles has left fans scratching their heads with his new ‘Australian accent’.
After a recent interview on Apple Music’s The Zane Lowe Show about his new album, Kiss All the Time, fans were surprised by the distinctive way the singer – who was born in Worcester – speaks.
Okay, so I’ve been following him forever, and everyone’s talking about it! His accent… it’s just… incredible. Seriously, I’ve been scouring all the fan comments, and we all agree – it’s totally unique! It’s like, a really cool mix, and some of us are picking up this amazing Australian thing happening with it. He’s taking his tour everywhere – Amsterdam, London, São Paulo, Mexico City, New York, Melbourne, Sydney… it’s insane! And honestly, the accent is even more noticeable now that he’s been traveling so much. It’s just… a mad one, in the best way possible, obviously!
Harry has faced criticism before for seemingly changing his Northern accent to sound more American, which he explained was due to his extensive travel.
Oh my gosh, you won’t BELIEVE what Harry said about his accent! He explained it’s all over the place – and honestly, it’s just part of his charm! He grew up up north, then lived in London for a decade, and he’s been spending SO much time in America lately. It’s like his accent just picks up bits and pieces from everywhere he goes, and it’s the cutest thing ever! I just love how he explained it so casually.
When I’m around Americans, they don’t perceive my accent as American. Interestingly, when I’m with people from England, they sometimes expect me to sound American, though I don’t think I do – I might just pick up a few American phrases here and there.
‘But I try and translate for whoever I’m with’.
After Harry Styles’ interview with Zane, many fans flocked to X (formerly Twitter) to express their confusion and frustration with his accent. Some commented that it sounded like a mix of American and Australian inflections, and they found it distracting.
Someone pointed out that Harry Styles’ accent in his interview with Zane Lowe sounds surprisingly Australian, and now I can’t stop noticing it too! It’s a really noticeable change.
People are wondering if Harry Styles has developed an Australian accent! Viewers noticed it during his recent interview with Zane Lowe and are sharing their observations online, questioning if he’s somehow picked up the accent. #ThisMorning
Is anyone else noticing Harry Styles suddenly sounds like he has an Australian accent? What’s going on with that?
Harry’s tour begins in Amsterdam on May 16th and will conclude in Sydney, Australia.
During his tour, he’ll be performing with special guests like Robyn, Shania Twain, Fcukers, Jorja Smith, Jamie xx, Fousheé, and Skye Newman. Tickets for the London shows will go on sale to the general public on January 30th at 11am.
Harry Styles will face competition from his former One Direction bandmate, Louis Tomlinson, in the music charts this week. Tomlinson’s album, ‘How Did I Get Here?’, comes out on Friday, following the release of his single ‘Imposter’ on Tuesday.
Harry got fans very excited when he suggested he’d be making another big announcement at 5pm. This hint came with the appearance of a clock on his new, private website, webelongtogether.co.
Just before the artist DISCO announced something on social media, at 5 PM in the UK, the hands on the clock happened to be pointing to the letters that spell out his stage name.
