Harry Potter stars Oliver Phelps, Gary Oldman and David Bradley enjoy a reunion at the Aston Villa v Chelsea game – after Tom Felton supported Daniel Radcliffe’s new Broadway show

Oliver Phelps, Gary Oldman, and David Bradley – three actors from the Harry Potter films – were spotted together at the Aston Villa versus Chelsea football match. This was the second Harry Potter reunion of the week.

It was such a sweet moment seeing the Harry Potter cast all together at the game! It really warmed my heart, especially since just a few days before, Tom Felton was there cheering on Daniel Radcliffe at his Broadway debut. It’s lovely to see how supportive they still are of each other – a true testament to the bonds they formed on set, and a beautiful example of how to support your friends’ dreams!

Oliver Phelps, who played George Weasley, shared a new photo taken inside a private box at Villa Park in Birmingham on Wednesday.

Gary, an Academy Award winner known for playing Sirius Black in the Harry Potter films, posed for a photo with Oliver and David, who played the Hogwarts caretaker, Mr. Filch.

Oliver, 40, shared a photo from tonight’s football game with the caption: ‘Great seeing these friends!’

We don’t know if their meeting was intentional or just a coincidence at the game.

Oliver grew up supporting Aston Villa, as his family and friends in Birmingham were all fans. It’s funny because his twin brother, James, actually supports their rivals, Birmingham FC, creating a friendly competition between them.

Gary has always been a supporter of Millwall, the football club near where he grew up in South London, and David is a fan of York City.

Oh my gosh, you guys, I’m losing it! Tom Felton went to see Dan Radcliffe in his Broadway show last night! He was there to support him, and the pictures are just the sweetest thing ever. A proper Harry Potter reunion! It’s like a dream come true just seeing them together again, seriously!

Harry Potter fans flooded the comments section with enthusiastic reactions to the photos, with comments like ‘I might have to start attending games if the atmosphere is always like this,’ ‘What a fantastic group – it’s great to see them together!’ and ‘This is an amazing picture!’

That’s an incredible picture! Thanks for sharing the fun, Ollie! It features three iconic characters: George, Sirius, and Filch!

Daniel, age 36, is currently performing in ‘Every Brilliant Thing’ on Broadway. Meanwhile, Tom, 38, has been working in theatre as well, appearing in ‘The Cursed Child’ in the United States.

Daniel, who famously played Harry Potter from 2001 to 2011, looked thrilled while hugging Tom, who played the villainous Draco Malfoy in the films.

Tom saw Daniel’s new play and shared photos of the two of them together afterward, including an old picture from when they worked on a movie together.

The star penned in the caption: ‘Broomsticks to Broadway @brilliantbway @cursedchildus.’

Despite disagreeing publicly about J.K. Rowling’s controversial views on transgender issues, the two have continued to be good friends.

Daniel and Tom have publicly disagreed since Daniel criticized and Tom defended JK Rowling’s stance on gender identity. Rowling, 60, has been outspoken in her belief that a person’s gender is determined at birth.

In 2020, Daniel joined other Harry Potter actors in publicly criticizing the author’s views on transgender people. However, Tom has continued to support JK Rowling, stating he isn’t influenced by her opinions.

J.K. Rowling’s views on transgender rights have sparked controversy globally, and she has been labeled a trans-exclusionary radical feminist (TERF) as a result.

In 2020, Daniel Radcliffe publicly affirmed that transgender women are women, issuing a statement through The Trevor Project. He explained that denying this basic truth disrespects and invalidates the identities of transgender individuals.

Tom has continued to support JK and has been careful about sharing his own opinions on her views, which has allowed him to stay involved with the franchise.

I’ve been following the buzz around the new Harry Potter series, and it’s been so interesting to see how the original cast is reacting! Just recently, Daniel Radcliffe shared his thoughts on seeing photos of the actors who are taking on those iconic roles – it’s been over a decade since he first became famous as Harry, so it’s a really unique perspective to hear him talk about it. It’s lovely to see them all reconnecting and acknowledging the next generation of wizards and witches.

Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton, and Alastair Stout will play Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley, respectively, in the upcoming HBO series.

Daniel reacted to the photos revealing the new actors who will be playing the main characters in the series, which is expected to come out in early 2027.

He shared what some of his former colleagues, including Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, had experienced growing up in the spotlight, and their desire to shield younger actors from its pressures.

‘We have all said, you know, you just see pictures of these kids and you just want to grab them and hug them,’ he told People. ‘That’s the impulse that I think that we, mainly, all have.’

He shared that he’s been talking with Rupert and Emma, and the three of them have discussed the upcoming TV series, which will adapt each of J.K. Rowling’s books over seven seasons.

Honestly, it’s just…amazing to hear him talk about it. He and the others were saying how weird it is to see new actors starting out, doing what they did all those years ago. It’s like, we were there at the beginning, you know? And to see others now going through the same thing…it’s just so surreal, and he totally gets it!

He began playing a character in the first movie of the series at age 11 and continued in the role for ten years, finishing with the final film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, at age 21.
