Harry Potter Set Videos Feature Weasleys, Show Iconic Scene From First Book

In recently unveiled images and clips, it appears that the Weasley family is making their way towards Hogwarts, as depicted in footage from the filming of HBO’s updated version of Harry Potter.

What do the new Harry Potter set videos show?

Fresh snaps and footage from the Harry Potter film set have disclosed that filming is underway for the sequences taking place at London’s King’s Cross Station. This is significant as it is where, in J.K. Rowling’s magical universe, Platform 9 3/4 lies-the platform where Harry, Ron, and their fellow Hogwarts students wait for the train that transports them to the famed school of magic, Hogwarts.

In the initial story, Harry struggles to find Platform 9 3/4, prompting him to turn to the Weasleys for aid, especially matriarch Molly, who guides the young magician on how to reach the concealed platform. This memorable moment marks the introduction of most of the Weasley family members for the first time.

The actors Alastair Stout, Katherine Parkinson, Tristan Harland, Gabriel Harland, and Gracie Cochrane were recently photographed on the King’s Cross set in London, dressed as their characters Ron, Molly, Fred, George, and Ginny Weasley from Harry Potter. As of now, no pictures of Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter have been released, but it is expected that he will soon join his fellow cast members on the set.

The recently released photos and clips suggest that Chris Columbus, the original Harry Potter director, will not be a part of the upcoming reboot. According to him, “I’ve already done it; you’ve seen my interpretation. There’s no more for me to contribute in the realm of Potter,” as he helmed the first two movies in the Harry Potter series.

Under the leadership of Francesca Gardiner as head writer and showrunner, and with Mark Mylod set as the primary director, the first season of the Harry Potter series is scheduled for release on HBO in the year 2027.
