Harrison Ford has strongly criticized Donald Trump’s approach to climate change, even though Ford himself owns a private jet that contributes to carbon emissions.
In a recent interview with The Guardian, 83-year-old actor Harrison Ford, known for his role as Indiana Jones, expressed deep concern about former President Trump’s actions regarding climate change, saying they frightened him. He went on to state that he couldn’t think of anyone in history who had committed greater wrongdoing than Trump.
Harrison Ford, a dedicated environmentalist who also owns a private jet, expressed strong concerns about Donald Trump in a recent interview. He stated that Trump doesn’t operate based on policy, but rather on impulsive decisions, which Ford finds deeply frightening. He criticized what he sees as Trump’s ignorance, arrogance, dishonesty, and betrayal, adding that Trump is aware of the issues but prioritizes personal financial gain while the world suffers.
‘It’s unbelievable. I don’t know of a greater criminal in history,’ he added.
The president has consistently doubted that government programs can fix this problem, and has even called it a fake.
Just under a year into his second term, 79-year-old Trump has taken steps that favor fossil fuels, such as reducing funding for clean energy initiatives. He’s also placed over 1,000 Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) employees – including climate change researchers – on immediate leave, among other changes.

According to The Guardian, Donald Trump has suggested that the UK increase its oil drilling and get rid of its wind turbines, which he reportedly described as ‘ugly’.
Ford explained that Trump dislikes wind turbines, saying he simply hasn’t seen one painted gold.
The actor strongly criticized the president’s approach to the climate crisis, calling it a combination of ignorance, arrogance, and deliberate deception that history will not forget.
Ford doesn’t believe Trump’s vision of a future powered by fossil fuels will become reality, as the world is gradually shifting towards cleaner energy sources.
Honestly, I’m seeing a real disconnect with the public, and it’s largely because trust is eroding – everything this person says just isn’t adding up. But I remain optimistic about tackling climate change. I truly believe we can slow things down enough to give ourselves the breathing room we need. That means shifting habits, investing in innovative solutions, and, crucially, actually putting those solutions into practice. It’s about buying time, but using that time wisely.
We need to recognize that people are capable of change and growth. Humans are remarkably adaptable and innovative, and with focused effort, we can usually find solutions to the challenges we face.
Before starting his second term, Trump pledged to eliminate environmental regulations he considered a waste of money. He also stated he would allow oil and gas drilling in protected areas to stimulate economic growth.
On his first day back in office, the White House revealed plans to exit the Paris climate agreement. This decision reverses a previous move made years earlier by Trump, which had been undone by President Biden.
Only two months ago, Donald Trump called climate change a “hoax” while speaking to the United Nations. He criticized nations for trying to reach net zero emissions.

Ford made these comments to The Guardian before being honored with the E.O. Wilson Legacy Award for Transformative Conservation Leadership in Chicago last Wednesday.
Okay, so I adore Harrison Ford, seriously, he’s amazing! And he’s always talking about how important it is to protect the planet, which I love. But… it’s kind of ironic, isn’t it? He flies around everywhere in his private plane! I mean, it’s great he’s raising awareness, but all that flying… it doesn’t exactly scream ‘eco-friendly’ to me, you know?
According to a 2022 report by Fox News, Ford took at least eight trips on his private jet within a two-month period, covering roughly 5,284 miles. These flights are estimated to have released about 35 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
During that same period, the aircraft emitted more carbon dioxide than the average American produces in two years. It also released more carbon than the typical person globally emits in nine years.

I remember back in 2020 when Rob Ford, on Jimmy Kimmel’s show, didn’t hold back at all – he really let loose with some strong language about Donald Trump! He also wasn’t shy about sharing his opinions on climate change, which I always appreciated. It was great to see him speak his mind so honestly.
In 2017, he stated that the country was at a unique turning point, and that the biggest danger wasn’t environmental issues like climate change, pollution, floods, or wildfires.
‘It’s that we’ve got people in charge of important s*** who don’t believe in science.’
Last year, Ford was among the many celebrities endorsing Kamala Harris for president against Trump.
