Harrison Ford makes surprising admission about joining the MCU
In simple terms, Harrison Ford recently shared an unexpected revelation about joining the Marvel Universe, stating that he had complete trust in the producers.
In a exciting turn of events, the iconic figure from Hollywood, most recognized for his appearances in both the Star Wars and Indiana Jones series, is set to join the superhero universe by portraying Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross in the upcoming film, “Captain America: Brave New World“, which marks the fourth installment of the series.
Prior to the film’s premiere in cinemas next week on February 14, Ford disclosed to The Wall Street Journal that he joined the project without even reviewing the script. Reflecting on his decision, he said: “Once again, no script. Why? I saw enough Marvel movies to see actors I respect enjoying themselves.
To put it simply, Ford found himself taken aback by several surprises in the script, as the leading actor admitted he was caught off guard by Ross’s transformation into the Red Hulk. In his own words, “It’s just like real life. You think you’ve got things figured out until you reach the last page and find that the instructions are nowhere to be found.
In the 35th installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, titled “Captain America: New Horizons“, Sam Wilson, portrayed by Anthony Mackie, assumes the role of Captain America. The story unfolds when Ross is elected President, leading to a global predicament that Sam finds himself entangled in.
Mackie has since addressed remarks he made at a Disney gathering in Rome. He expressed that he doubts if America should be part of what his character symbolizes. Instead, he emphasized the significant values as “honor, respect, and moral uprightness.
After facing criticism on social platforms, Mackie made it clear that he is a patriotic citizen and donning the shield of a hero like Captain America is an unparalleled privilege for him.
The celebrity expressed deep admiration for individuals who protect our nation, past and present. Regardless of where one comes from, there are common traits found in everyone represented by CAP that people worldwide can identify with, the star added, referencing a character they once played as The Falcon.
In movie theaters starting February 14, 2025, you can catch the latest installment of Captain America: A New Era. Previously released Captain America films, along with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series, are available for streaming on Disney Plus.
