Harrison Ford honored at D23: "The stories are for you, about you, about us."

As a seasoned gamer with a heart for storytelling, I must say that witnessing Harrison Ford’s humble acceptance of his Disney Legend status at D23 Expo 2024 was an emotional rollercoaster. His journey from Han Solo to Captain America is nothing short of epic, and it’s a testament to the power of storytelling in our lives.

At the D23 Expo 2024, Harrison Ford received the recognition of being a Disney Legend. From his roles as Han Solo, Indiana Jones, and the upcoming Marvel character in “Captain America: Brave New World”, Ford’s extensive career was celebrated at Disney’s grandest event.

Through Variety, it was reported that Ford, the actor, felt moved by the heartwarming reception from the audience following Disney’s CEO’s introduction. “I love you too,” he began his speech amidst applause. “I appreciate the life you’ve granted me. I cherish the individuals I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with. In this profession, we seldom last long. We work together, regardless of who we are or what we do. We’re all working towards an idea.”

“I’m fortunate enough to weave tales as a narrator.” Ford further explained, “A supportive narrator, if you will. I have my slice of the story to share. Yet, everyone else does too. These stories are for your journey, reflecting yours and ours – our shared humanity. It’s an honor to be involved in such a field.”

1. It was evident that the whole event left Ford feeling humble. Not just him, but also Frank Oz and John Williams were recognized as Disney Legends alongside him during the ceremony. They were all part of the Disney Legends class of 2024.

Good Morning America expressed his heartfelt gratitude at being in the esteemed company of those being honored tonight, acknowledging his delight while feeling slightly embarrassed, yet deeply appreciative.”

Among those celebrated as 2024 Disney Legends are Colleen Atwood, Angela Bassett, Martha Blanding, James L. Brooks, James Cameron, Jamie Lee Curtis, Miley Cyrus, Steve Ditko, Mark Henn, Kelly Ripa, and Joe Rohde. This special event, hosted by Ryan Seacrest, is now streaming on Disney+ for your enjoyment.
