Harrison Ford, 83, slammed for leaving Emmys with wife Calista Flockhart as soon as he lost for Shrinking

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! Harrison Ford actually *left* the Emmys last night! Can you imagine? After being nominated for the very first time EVER, he didn’t win and just…left. I’m heartbroken for him, honestly. It was in LA, of course, and everyone’s talking about it. Poor Harrison!

Stars are expected to stay at the ceremony until it ends.

He was up for an Emmy for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series thanks to his work on *Shrinking*. However, Jeff Hiller unexpectedly won the award for *Somebody Somewhere*, in what many saw as a surprise victory.

According to Showbiz411, Harrison Ford quickly left the event after it became clear he hadn’t won. His seats were then filled by standby audience members.

People reacted to his quick exit on X, with one user suggesting it seemed like a case of being a sore loser. Another commented that Harrison Ford, known for playing Han Solo in Star Wars, should have stayed longer.

Before the ceremony, Ford told Variety that he doesn’t see creativity as a competition.

He expressed his gratitude for the acknowledgment, but stated he’ll keep acting no matter if people notice or not.

At 83 years old, Ford received his first-ever Emmy nomination, a remarkable milestone in his acting career.

Meanwhile, Ford doesn’t have any plans to retire.

The star believes actors are fortunate in that there’s no strict time limit on their working life.

When asked about retirement, Harrison told Variety he doesn’t plan to stop acting. He explained that he finds it appealing how the acting profession continues to need older performers to play age-appropriate roles.

Throughout his career, Harrison has collaborated with legendary filmmakers like Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, and Francis Ford Coppola. He also fondly remembers working during the vibrant film eras of the 1970s and 80s.

He explained that the movie industry was going through a really exciting period. In the late 1970s and throughout the 1980s, a wave of young, fiercely independent filmmakers emerged, all determined to create films on their own terms, and they all gained prominence around the same time.

I felt fortunate to join that group when I was young. However, I always thought my career would be limited to playing supporting roles, rather than becoming a leading man.

‘I never wanted to be anything more than somebody that made a living as an actor.’

As someone who follows pop culture closely, it’s fascinating to remember that even Harrison Ford wasn’t convinced *Star Wars* would become the massive franchise it is today! He famously played Han Solo in the first film, but he actually wasn’t sure if it would even *get* a sequel at the time. It just goes to show you never know what’s going to become a cultural phenomenon!

The famous actor explained that when they began filming, it wasn’t certain there would be a sequel. Because of this uncertainty, and only having the script for the first movie to go on, he hadn’t signed a contract for a second film. Ultimately, he felt this turned out to be beneficial for everyone involved.

Harrison Ford starred as Indiana Jones, and he always believed the first movie would be a massive hit.

When asked about returning to the role of Indiana Jones in ‘The Dial of Destiny,’ Harrison Ford said he was interested in portraying an older character dealing with the results of his past adventures.

I never anticipated making five movies in the series. While everyone hopes for success in Hollywood, it’s rare to actually expect it.

‘I did expect the first film would be wildly successful.

I skimmed the script once, after George Lucas asked me to meet Steven Spielberg – someone I hadn’t met before. He sent it over, and I immediately loved it. After about an hour meeting Steven, I was offered a job.
