Harlan Coben’s new Netflix show gets first look at Richard Armitage’s character
As a dedicated fan of gripping suspense dramas, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming Harlan Coben series, “Missing You.” The stellar cast led by Rosalind Eleazar and Richard Armitage, with notable appearances by Ashley Walters, Sir Lenny Henry, James Nesbitt, Jessica Plumber, Steve Pemberton, and others, promises an unforgettable viewing experience.
Netflix has shared the first-look photos of upcoming Harlan Coben drama Missing You.
In the main part of the fresh thriller series, Rose Lindsay Eleazar from Slow Horses takes center stage, with an illustrious ensemble including Ashley Walters (Top Boy), Sir Lenny Henry, James Nesbitt, and Richard Armitage from Fool Me Once.
In the newly released photos, we get our initial glimpse of Armitage’s character, who is depicted peering suspiciously out a window while on a call. Earlier, he confided to Digital Spy that he will be portraying a police sergeant in the series titled “Missing You.
As I step into my role as Kat Donovan, the dedicated Missing Persons detective, I can’t help but feel a deep connection to this work. After all, it’s more than just a job for me – it’s personal.
11 years ago, Detective Kat Donovan’s beloved fiancé Josh vanished without a trace, and she hasn’t heard from him since. The show summary goes on to explain that one day, while browsing profiles on a dating app, she comes across his face once more, sending shockwaves through her world all over again.
When Josh returns, she may be compelled to once again explore the enigma of her father’s death and unearth old secrets hidden in her past.
Initial images seem to imply that Walters might portray Josh, as they appear joyful and snuggled together in a photo.
In addition to Jessica Plumber, known for her role in EastEnders, the movie “Missing You” also features the talented Sir Lenny Henry and Eleazer in various photographs.
The cast also includes Inside No. 9‘s Steve Pemberton and Suspect star James Nesbitt.
In June, Nesbitt was spotted on set working on his role in “Missing You“, with a black suit suggesting a mournful scene that seemed to be for a funeral. Earlier last year, he made an appearance in the adaptation of Harlan Coben’s novel “Stay Close” which aired in 2021.
Just like other series based on Harlan Coben’s books, it’s been announced that the setting for Missing You has been shifted from the U.S. to the United Kingdom in Netflix’s adaptation.
This year, the filming for the thriller was done in Manchester and its surrounding areas, as well as other parts of the North West region of England.
At this moment, there isn’t a specified release date for “Missing You”. Previously, lead actor Richard Armitage hinted that it could potentially premiere as early as 2025.
During an interview with Digital Spy, he expressed his belief that the show may air in the same timeslot as “Fool Me Once” next year, and he speculated that it might premiere on January 1st.
Missing You will stream on Netflix.
