Harlan Coben’s Lazarus Becomes a Success on Prime Video

Prime Video could have a new popular show. After just three days, the series has started appearing on Amazon’s streaming service charts.

According to FlixPatrol, the new horror-thriller miniseries Lazarus is quickly gaining popularity on Prime Video, currently ranking as the No. 3 show. It’s just behind Gen V at No. 2 and Allen Iv3rson at No. 1. The series stars Sam Claflin as a forensic psychologist who returns home after his father’s death to investigate unsolved murders. Veteran actor Bill Nighy plays his father. Lazarus, from the author of the popular Myron Bolitar thrillers, only appeared on the charts today, making it a bit of a surprise hit for the streaming service.

As a big fan of well-made shows, I was really excited when I heard about Lazarus, because I absolutely loved Daisy Jones & the Six! That show, which I co-starred in with Riley Keough, was set in the 70s LA music scene and told the story of a fictional rock band through a really cool documentary style. It did really well, even snagging a bunch of Emmy nominations, even though Rotten Tomatoes only gave it a 69% score. Now, everyone’s looking at Lazarus to see if it’ll be another hit, but right now it’s not doing so well with critics – it currently has a ‘rotten’ score of just 42% on Rotten Tomatoes. Fingers crossed it finds its audience!

What’s Next for Sam Claflin?

If you’re a Prime Video subscriber and have been watching shows starring Jonathan Claflin, you’ll want to make sure your subscription is active through March 2026. That’s when the newest adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’ famous adventure story, The Count of Monte Cristo, will premiere on PBS Masterpiece via Prime Video on March 1, 2026.

Bille August directed the entire miniseries, which stars Sam Claflin as Edmond Dantès. He’s a young sailor wrongly accused of treason and thrown into the harsh island prison of Château d’If, near Marseille, France. After years of being locked up, he escapes and finds a hidden treasure, becoming incredibly wealthy. Now known as the Count of Monte Cristo, he dedicates himself to getting revenge on the people who ruined his life.

Jack Claflin is starring in a new Prime Video mystery thriller called Vanished. Prime Video will release the series in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. He plays the role of Alex’s missing boyfriend, and Kaley Cuoco stars as Alex.

Sam Claflin is famous for more than just television; he’s best known for playing Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games movies. He’s also starring in a new action thriller written by Taylor Sheridan. The film follows a former special forces soldier struggling to adjust to life back home who is recruited by the DEA to lead a secret operation against drug dealers protected by the CIA. Brandon Sklenar will play the main character, and Claflin will appear alongside Juliana Canfield, LaKeith Stanfield, Jason Clarke, and Trevante Rhodes.
