Harlan Coben shares update about new Manchester-set series due to release in 2025
At present, Harlan Coben’s newest TV series adaptation titled “Missing You” is making waves in the Netflix rankings. The show features notable actors such as Rosalind Eleazar, Ashley Walters, Richard Armitage, and James Nesbitt (to mention a few).
As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but feel that familiar rush of excitement when I hear about something fresh on the horizon. Recently, author Harlan Coben spilled some intriguing details in an interview with Radio Times about his upcoming thriller, Lazarus, slated for release in 2025. Can’t wait to dive into this new adventure!
He recently wrapped up working on a show titled “Lazarus” alongside Bill Nighy and Sam Claflin, as he shared with the press outlet.
Instead of following the script from one of his novels like “Missing You,” “Fool Me Once,” and “The Stranger,” “Lazarus” stands out as an original TV tale crafted exclusively for screenplay purposes.
Coben clarified, “This concept is quite unique. Initially, I envisioned turning it into a novel, but now I’m considering it as a television series instead. It has a touch of the supernatural and is quite visually striking.
Earlier, we got our first glimpse of the Lazarus movie being filmed in Manchester, and some behind-the-scenes shots hinted at Sam Claflin playing the main role.
In a new role, the actor known for “Peaky Blinders” will portray Laz, a psychologist specializing in forensics. Following the demise of his father, played by Bill Nighy, Laz encounters unsettling events that he struggles to comprehend.
Twenty-five years prior, Laz’s sister was brutally murdered – adding another enigma to the mix, Laz becomes entangled in a series of unsolved cold-case homicides, determined to unravel both family tragedies.
Additional actors for the production of Lazarus have been revealed, including Alexandra Roach, Roisin Gallagher, David Fynn (from ITV’s The Pembrokeshire Murders) and Karla Crome, who was previously seen in Misfits. This information comes from Deadline.
In the upcoming project, Harlan Coben is teaming up with writer Danny Brocklehurst, who penned “Fool Me Once.”
Or, more conversational:
Harlan Coben and Danny Brocklehurst are working together on a new project. You might remember Danny as the author of “Fool Me Once.
Lazarus will be available for streaming on Prime Video in the year 2025. Meanwhile, you can find Harlan Coben’s works already streaming on Netflix.
