Happy Valley star Charlie Murphy’s new ITV thriller Safe Harbor has landed a release date.

Starting this coming Sunday, April 20th, I’ll be diving into an exciting new streaming series that’s based on real-life happenings. You can find it only on ITVX!

Developed by Mark Williams from Ozark, Safe Harbor revolves around two talented hackers, Tobias (Alfie Allen from Game of Thrones) and Marco (Martijn Lakemeier), who aspire to rise in the tech industry and gain entry into a prestigious billionaire’s club.

‘Marco and Tobias find themselves unwittingly thrust into the tumultuous world of organized crime after encountering the Irish underworld.’

In Holland, Sloane (Murphy) and Farrell (Jack Gleeson) are in charge of managing the family business. They recruit Tobias and Marco for a task that involves breaking into the security system at Rotterdam Harbor, Europe‘s largest shipping port, with the aim of facilitating unnoticed drug deliveries.

The supporting actors in this production also feature Colm Meaney from “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” Damien Molony known for “Brassic,” Pauline McLynn who starred in “EastEnders,” Charlotte Timmers, and Daniel Lapaine, best recognized from “A Spy Among Friends.

Last year, during the unveiling of the show, executive producer Femke Wolting expressed her delight at welcoming more outstanding international talents aboard, positioning Safe Harbor as a universally inclusive production.

In this exceptional thriller, viewers are sure to find themselves on tenterhooks. With a stellar cast led by writer-director Mark Williams and director Arne Toonen, along with other talented creatives, this promises to be a cinematic event that will linger in memories.

Recently, Charlie Murphy was last seen on-screen in the year 2023, gracing us with his presence in not just one but two productions: the concluding season of “Happy Valley” and Netflix’s suspenseful drama titled “Obsession.

The actor communicated with Digital Spy and other outlets about managing two projects, expressing at the time: “It was wonderful that I had worked on [Happy Valley] previously. [Obsession] required a significant amount of mental effort because we were essentially creating a new universe, and learning as we went along.

“As we continually construct the path ahead, returning to a project like that show, especially when I had multiple jobs, felt incredibly rewarding.

Safe Habor will be available to stream exclusively on ITVX from Sunday, April 20.
